Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Job Overview
The Head of Data is a high-impact leadership role responsible for bridging the gap between visionary data innovation and operational excellence. This individual will lead a multi-disciplinary team to build a market-leading data proposition that drives business growth, productizes data assets, and ensures unparalleled client satisfaction.
As the primary architect of the company’s data roadmap, you will balance the "big picture" strategy—leveraging AI, predictive modeling, and data monetization—with the rigorous execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will be a transformation driver, ensuring that data is not just a reporting tool but a core commercial product that "delights" both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Key Functional Areas of Impact
- Data Strategy & Productization: Develop and execute a roadmap for data monetization, turning raw audience assets into high-value commercial products and services.
- Operational Excellence & Reporting: Establish the "gold standard" for data delivery, ensuring the depth, quality, and frequency of reporting exceed client expectations.
- Business Intelligence (BI) & Campaign ROI: Oversee the creation of robust dashboards and analytical frameworks that prove the value of marketing spend and campaign performance.
- Client Insights: Lead client-facing consultations to translate complex data into "stories" and actionable future strategies.
- Data Engineering & Infrastructure: Collaborate with the technical data engineering team under our web development/digital product department to ensure data models are scalable, integrated, and optimized for performance.
- Audience Data & CDP Management: Oversee the management of audience data within the Customer Data Platform (CDP) to improve segmentation, retention, and personalized targeting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Innovation
- Drive the transition from traditional data science to innovative approaches, utilizing automation, predictive modeling, and AI to enhance efficiency and depth.
- Partner with Legal and Data Protection Officers (DPOs) to ensure all data strategies remain compliant with evolving privacy regulations.
- Evaluate and implement next-gen ad-tech and data-tech stacks to maintain a competitive market edge.
2. Operational & Client Excellence
- Establish and enforce SOPs and client-facing SLAs to provide consistency and quality across all data deliverables.
- Act as a hands-on mentor to a growing team, fostering a culture of "operational excellence" where accuracy and meaningful application of results are top of mind.
- Lead high-level client meetings to define success metrics and establish guardrails for evolving requirements.
3. Cross-Functional Liaison
- Product & Business Divisions: Partner to conceptualize and bring data products to market.
- Marketing: Provide the insights needed for audience growth and brand effectiveness.
- Finance: Collaborate on data monetization strategies and ROI reporting for internal investments.
- Sales Operations: Ensure the sales team is equipped with the data-driven "stories" and tools required to win and retain business.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- Experience: 12–15+ years in a senior leadership role within data strategy, analytics, or digital operations. Experience in the pharmaceutical marketing or digital health space is highly preferred.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing and mentoring diverse teams (analysts, engineers, and strategists) and building cross-functional consensus.
- Technical Proficiency: A strong command of the modern data stack, including SQL, JavaScript, Google Analytics 360, and Google Tag Manager. Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and Google Cloud is essential.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to develop data-related products and services, including strategy for pricing and monetization.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite executives and external clients.
- Education: At minimum, a BA/BS degree in a related field (Data Science, Business, Finance, or Engineering) or equivalent experience. Master’s level preferred.
Success Metrics
- Retention & Satisfaction: High client retention rates driven by the accuracy and frequency of insights reporting.
- Revenue Growth: Successful launch and monetization of new data-driven products.
- Operational Efficiency: Reduction in reporting turnaround times through automated workflows and SOPs.
- Data Integrity: Maintaining a 100% compliant and high-quality audience database within the CDP.
What We Offer:
- A competitive compensation package, bonus eligible
- The salary range for this position is $225,000–$300,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.

Job Roles at Haymarket Media Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Haymarket Media Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles at the intersection of tech and media
Haymarket Media's sponsorship activity centers on its technology and software operations. Focus your applications on product, engineering, and digital media roles where specialized skills are harder to source domestically and sponsorship is more readily considered.
Understand which visa types Haymarket Media supports
Haymarket Media has sponsored H-1B visas and pursued Green Card pathways for employees. If you're on F-1 OPT or CPT, the company also accommodates those statuses, giving early-career international candidates a viable entry point before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
Position your skills around specialized knowledge
H-1B sponsorship at media companies typically goes to roles requiring a specific degree in a directly related field. Frame your application around a clearly defined specialty, data, software, product, rather than broad editorial or generalist backgrounds.
Ask about Green Card timelines during the offer stage
Haymarket Media has sponsored employees for permanent residence through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. If long-term stability matters to you, raise the Green Card question during offer negotiation rather than after you've already accepted and started the role.
Browse verified sponsorship history before applying
Before investing time in an application, confirm Haymarket Media's sponsorship track record for your target role type. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus only on employers who have actually filed for candidates like you.

Does Haymarket Media sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Haymarket Media sponsors H-1B visas. The company has filed H-1B petitions for roles in its technology and software operations. Sponsorship tends to be concentrated in specialized positions where the required skills align tightly with a specific degree field. If you're targeting a specialty occupation role, Haymarket Media is worth pursuing as a potential sponsor.
What visa types does Haymarket Media sponsor?
Haymarket Media sponsors H-1B visas, supports F-1 OPT and CPT for early-career candidates, accepts TN visa holders, and has pursued permanent residence through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. This range of visa types makes the company accessible to international candidates at different stages of their U.S. immigration journey, from recent graduates to mid-career professionals seeking long-term status.
Which roles at Haymarket Media are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Haymarket Media is most common in technology, software, digital product, and data-focused roles where a specific degree is a genuine job requirement. Editorial and general business roles are less likely to qualify for H-1B sponsorship under the specialty occupation standard. Candidates in engineering, product management, and data analysis are better positioned to secure a sponsored offer.
How do I find open sponsored jobs at Haymarket Media?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find roles at Haymarket Media that come with verified sponsorship history. Rather than guessing which postings include sponsorship, Migrate Mate filters by real filing data so you can apply with confidence. Focus your search on technology and software roles, where Haymarket Media's sponsorship activity is concentrated.
How do I approach the application process at Haymarket Media as a visa candidate?
Lead with your technical qualifications and the specific value you bring to the role before raising immigration needs. Haymarket Media's experience with H-1B and Green Card filings means hiring managers are familiar with the process, but sponsorship decisions are still made on fit first. If you're on OPT, apply early so your employer has time to file before the next H-1B cap deadline in March.
