Align your credentials with NEC standards
Electrical construction in the U.S. is governed by the National Electrical Code. Before applying, confirm your trade certifications or engineering credentials map to U.S. licensing expectations, since Helix evaluates candidates against project-specific compliance requirements.
Target roles tied to large project pipelines
Helix Electric operates on major commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Applying for roles attached to active project phases, rather than general openings, puts you in front of hiring managers with immediate workforce needs and stronger motivation to initiate sponsorship.
Understand the PERM timeline for permanent roles
If you're targeting EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, DOL's PERM labor certification can take twelve months or more. Raise this pathway in your final-round conversations so Helix can assess whether the role qualifies and begin recruitment documentation in parallel.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Construction openings
Helix Electric's Construction openings are spread across multiple regions and project sites. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for visa-sponsored Construction roles at Helix so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, not assumed.
Prepare a project portfolio tied to U.S. code work
Helix's project engineers and field supervisors are expected to reference drawings and specs built to U.S. standards. Presenting past project documentation, even from international work, reformatted to reflect NEC or OSHA familiarity, strengthens your technical credibility before the interview.

Find Construction at Helix Electric JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Helix Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Helix Electric has sponsored H-1B visas for Construction positions. H-1B sponsorship in construction is typically limited to specialty occupation roles, such as project engineers or electrical designers, where a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a standard requirement. Field labor roles without a degree requirement generally do not qualify for H-1B sponsorship under USCIS specialty occupation criteria.
Which visa types are commonly used for Construction roles at Helix Electric?
Helix Electric has sponsored workers across several visa categories for Construction roles, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. Engineering and design-focused positions are most commonly associated with H-1B and Green Card routes, while recent graduates completing degrees in construction management or electrical engineering often enter through OPT or CPT authorization.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Helix Electric?
You can browse and apply for visa-sponsored Construction openings at Helix Electric through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where sponsorship is confirmed. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight project-specific experience, relevant certifications, and your current visa status so Helix's hiring team can assess your file against both the technical role requirements and their sponsorship capacity at that time.
What qualifications does Helix Electric expect for sponsored Construction positions?
For sponsored roles, Helix Electric typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on project experience. Familiarity with NEC standards, OSHA safety protocols, and estimating or project coordination software strengthens your application. Roles requiring licensure, such as PE credentials, carry additional weight in the evaluation process.
How do I plan my timeline around Helix Electric's sponsorship process?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how much authorized work time remains before you apply, since H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. For TN visa holders, status can be arranged more quickly at the border or through USCIS. Green Card sponsorship through PERM requires the longest runway, so raise that conversation with Helix's HR team as early as the offer stage.
