Certify Your HVAC Credentials Before Applying
EPA Section 608 certification is a baseline expectation for HVAC roles at hotel chains like Hyatt. Get this certified before you apply, because Hyatt's facilities hiring teams treat it as a screening filter, not a nice-to-have.
Target Properties Undergoing Renovation Cycles
Hyatt frequently hires HVAC Technicians during major property renovations and brand conversions. Search for recently rebranded or newly acquired Hyatt properties, as these locations typically have active engineering team buildouts and more open roles.
Understand Which Visa Fits Your Background
Hyatt sponsors multiple visa types for skilled trades roles, including H-2B for temporary positions and EB-3 for permanent residence pathways. Your immigration history, current status, and whether you're already in the U.S. will determine which route your Hyatt hiring team pursues with their attorney.
Align Your Application With Hyatt's Peak Hiring Seasons
Hotel engineering staffing tends to spike before summer and the winter holiday period. Submitting your application in the months before these peaks increases the likelihood that Hyatt's property-level hiring managers are actively approving headcount for HVAC roles.
Ask Explicitly About PERM During Offer Discussions
If you're targeting permanent residence, confirm early whether the specific Hyatt property will pursue a PERM labor certification for the role. DOL's PERM process requires the employer to document recruitment efforts, so this conversation needs to happen before an offer is finalized, not after.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Hyatt HVAC Roles
Filter by employer and visa type on Migrate Mate to surface HVAC Technician openings at Hyatt that are explicitly tied to sponsorship. This saves time you'd otherwise spend manually screening job boards for roles that don't lead anywhere on immigration.

Does Hyatt sponsor H-1B visas for HVAC Technicians?
Hyatt does sponsor H-1B visas, but HVAC Technician roles present a specific challenge: the H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it typically needs a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Most HVAC roles are classified as skilled trades rather than specialty occupations, so Hyatt is more likely to pursue H-2B, EB-3, or TN pathways for this function depending on your background and the role structure.
How do I apply for HVAC Technician jobs at Hyatt?
Apply directly through Hyatt's careers portal, and use Migrate Mate to identify which open HVAC Technician listings are tied to visa sponsorship before you invest time in the application. Tailor your resume to highlight EPA Section 608 certification, relevant HVAC systems experience in commercial or hospitality settings, and any prior U.S. work authorization history. Hyatt's property-level engineering managers often have input in hiring decisions alongside the central HR team.
Which visa types does Hyatt commonly use for HVAC Technician roles?
Hyatt has sponsored H-2B visas for temporary HVAC positions and pursued EB-3 Green Card pathways for skilled workers in longer-term roles. TN status is available if you're a Canadian or Mexican national working in a qualifying engineering or technician category. F-1 OPT and CPT are less common for trades roles but can apply if your academic program directly aligns with building systems or mechanical engineering.
What qualifications does Hyatt expect for HVAC Technician positions?
Hyatt's HVAC Technician roles typically require EPA Section 608 certification, experience with commercial HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, and building automation systems, and familiarity with preventive maintenance programs. Hotel properties run 24-hour operations, so Hyatt also looks for candidates comfortable with rotating shifts and emergency response. Prior experience in hospitality or large commercial facilities gives your application a meaningful advantage over general contractor backgrounds.
How long does the sponsorship process take if Hyatt offers me an HVAC Technician role?
Timeline depends on the visa route. H-2B processing through DOL and USCIS can take several months, and the H-2B cap means timing your filing matters. EB-3 PERM labor certification alone can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the I-140 petition. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border same-day if documentation is complete. Clarify the intended visa category with Hyatt's HR team early so you can plan realistically around your current status or grace period.
