Align Your HR Credentials to U.S. Standards
If your HR qualifications come from outside the U.S., document how they map to SHRM or HRCI certifications. Hyatt's HR hiring teams recognize these credentials, and having a clear equivalency statement strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B petitions.
Target Property-Level HR Roles First
Hyatt's full-service and luxury properties regularly hire HR coordinators and generalists at the property level. These roles are often easier entry points than corporate positions and still qualify for H-1B sponsorship under the specialty occupation standard.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Hyatt HR Openings
Hyatt posts HR roles across brands like Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, and Andaz. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hyatt Human Resources positions that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not wasting applications on roles that won't support your status.
Understand Hospitality's LCA Prevailing Wage Dynamics
DOL prevailing wages for HR roles in hospitality markets like Chicago or New York vary significantly by metro area. Before your offer stage, verify your offered salary meets the Level I or Level II prevailing wage for your specific location, since Hyatt properties span dozens of wage zones.
Time OPT Applications to Hyatt's Seasonal Hiring Cycles
Hyatt's HR departments typically ramp up hiring ahead of summer and peak travel seasons. If you're on F-1 OPT, submit applications three to four months before your preferred start date so your authorization window aligns with Hyatt's onboarding timelines.

Does Hyatt sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources roles?
Yes, Hyatt sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources positions that qualify as specialty occupations, typically roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Property-level HR generalist and coordinator roles, as well as corporate talent acquisition and workforce planning positions, have historically been included in Hyatt's sponsorship activity.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Hyatt?
You can search Hyatt's careers site directly or use Migrate Mate to browse Hyatt HR openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect hospitality-specific HR experience such as high-volume hourly hiring, workforce scheduling, or union environment experience, since Hyatt properties often operate in those contexts.
Which visa types does Hyatt commonly use for Human Resources positions?
Hyatt uses several visa categories for HR roles depending on the candidate's situation. H-1B is the most common path for degreed HR professionals. F-1 OPT and CPT support students and recent graduates entering HR functions. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR roles. For longer-term employees, Hyatt has sponsored Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 PERM process.
What qualifications does Hyatt expect for sponsored Human Resources roles?
Most sponsored HR roles at Hyatt require a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a closely related field. For H-1B purposes, the degree must directly relate to the role's duties. Practical experience in hospitality HR functions, such as onboarding large hourly workforces, benefits administration, or employee relations in a hotel environment, strengthens both your application and the specialty occupation argument.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if Hyatt sponsors me?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS takes four to six months from filing, with cap-subject petitions filed in April for an October 1 start date. If Hyatt opts for premium processing, USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days. Factor in two to four weeks before filing for the Department of Labor to certify the Labor Condition Application, which must be completed before Hyatt can submit your petition.
