Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.
Job Description
We are seeking a versatile Lead Electrical Engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and next-gen intelligence. This role is designed for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who can balance the high-stakes innovation of New Product Development (NPD) with the critical rigor of sustaining engineering. You will be instrumental in architecting embedded systems that leverage the latest technologies to bring real-time intelligence to our hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Lifecycle Design: Lead end-to-end design from initial concept and schematic capture to high-density PCB layout and production launch.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate DSP solutions into larger system architectures, ensuring seamless interoperability and debugging complex system-level issues.
- Mixed Engineering Focus: Balance NPD (prototyping, validation, and innovation) with Sustaining Engineering (troubleshooting field issues, managing component obsolescence, and driving cost-reduction initiatives).
- Agile Execution: Work within a cross-functional Agile team, participating in sprints to rapidly iterate on prototypes and ship production-ready features.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 5–10 years of experience in electrical/embedded systems, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment.
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in EDA tools like Cadence OrCAD.
- Deep understanding of analog/digital circuit design, power management, and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Design and implementation of systems centered around MCUs, DSPs, or FPGAs.
Soft Skills:
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to act as a "product owner" for your subsystems, making data-backed decisions under ambiguity.
- Versatile: Ability to shift gears between high-level architectural brainstorming and deep-dive troubleshooting of production issues.
- Agile Proficiency: Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for managing tasks in an Agile environment.

Target engineering and technical roles first
INFICON's sponsorship history is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to its instrumentation and manufacturing operations. Roles in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and process development align most closely with where the company has sponsored foreign nationals.
Apply well ahead of the H-1B cap season
H-1B registrations open in March each year. To be considered, you need to have an offer and a sponsoring employer ready before that window. Start conversations with INFICON's recruiting team by January at the latest.
Lead with your technical specialization, not your visa need
Hiring managers in manufacturing care about whether you can solve specific engineering problems. Frame your application around your domain expertise in instrumentation, vacuum technology, or process control before raising sponsorship in the conversation.
Verify INFICON's open roles through a platform with real sponsorship data
Not every job board flags which employers actually sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on companies like INFICON with a confirmed track record.
Use INFICON's niche to your advantage
INFICON operates in a specialized corner of manufacturing, which means competition for roles may be lower than at large generalist employers. Candidates with backgrounds in sensors, leak detection, or analytical instrumentation are particularly well positioned to stand out.

Does INFICON sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, INFICON sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for qualified candidates, primarily in technical and engineering roles tied to its manufacturing and instrumentation business. If you're targeting INFICON, focus on roles where your technical background directly matches the company's product and process needs.
Which visa types does INFICON support beyond H-1B?
INFICON supports a range of visa types including F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 in addition to H-1B. This makes INFICON a viable option if you're currently on a student visa or working under OPT, since you may be able to join the company before a formal H-1B petition is filed.
Which departments or roles at INFICON are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at INFICON is most commonly associated with engineering and technical functions, reflecting the company's core business in precision measurement and instrumentation. Roles in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software development, and manufacturing process engineering are the strongest targets. Research and product development positions at the company are also worth considering.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at INFICON?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find INFICON roles that come with visa sponsorship. The platform verifies sponsorship history so you're not guessing which postings are open to foreign nationals. Filter by company name and visa type to see relevant openings alongside INFICON's full sponsorship profile in one place.
How do I approach the application process at INFICON as a visa-dependent candidate?
Apply early and lead with your technical qualifications before raising sponsorship. INFICON operates in a specialized industry, so demonstrating specific expertise in instrumentation, vacuum systems, or precision manufacturing will carry more weight than a general engineering background. Initiate contact with recruiters well before the March H-1B registration window if you need cap-subject sponsorship.
