Target roles in club operations and management
Jonathan Club's sponsorship activity centers on specialized operational and management roles. Focus your application on positions requiring distinct expertise in hospitality, event coordination, or club administration, where the case for sponsorship is easiest for an employer to justify.
Understand the niche nature of private club hiring
Private clubs like Jonathan Club hire selectively and infrequently. Sponsorship opportunities are rare and competitive, so position yourself as a highly specialized candidate whose skills align directly with the club's operational needs and membership service standards.
Leverage F-1 OPT or CPT as a foot in the door
Jonathan Club has sponsored F-1 visa holders, making OPT or CPT a realistic entry point. If you're on a student visa, look for internship or early-career roles that could transition into longer-term H-1B sponsorship once you've demonstrated your value.
Research open roles verified for sponsorship history
Not every job posting makes sponsorship status clear. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles where the employer has no track record of supporting visa candidates.
Prepare a sponsorship conversation early in the process
Given Jonathan Club's selective hiring pace, raise your visa requirements early with the hiring team. Private clubs often lack large HR departments, so a direct, transparent conversation about your status avoids late-stage surprises and signals professionalism.
Align your expertise with the Professional & Trade Associations sector
Jonathan Club operates within the Professional & Trade Associations industry, where member experience and institutional reputation drive hiring decisions. Emphasizing specialized credentials, hospitality certifications, or club management experience strengthens your case for sponsorship considerably.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jonathan Club sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Jonathan Club has sponsored H-1B visas. It is not a high-volume sponsor, but it has a documented track record of supporting H-1B candidates in specialized roles. Applicants should target positions that require distinct expertise, as these are the roles most likely to justify the sponsorship process for a private club employer.
What visa types does Jonathan Club sponsor?
Jonathan Club sponsors H-1B visas and has also supported F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT candidates, making it accessible to international students as well as experienced professionals. J-1 visa exchange visitor sponsorship is also associated with the club. The range of visa types reflects a willingness to engage with international talent across career stages.
Which departments or roles at Jonathan Club are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Jonathan Club tends to be concentrated in specialized operational and management roles, particularly those tied to hospitality, club administration, and event services. Positions requiring niche expertise or industry-specific credentials are the strongest candidates for sponsorship, as these are harder for the club to fill with domestic applicants alone.
How do I find open jobs at Jonathan Club that are open to visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to use Migrate Mate, which tracks employers with verified sponsorship histories so you can filter for roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome. Because Jonathan Club hires selectively, setting up alerts for new openings ensures you don't miss a position when one becomes available.
What should I expect from the application timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Jonathan Club?
Private clubs typically move more slowly through hiring than large corporations, so budget extra time for the process. If H-1B sponsorship is required, the employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before submitting your petition to USCIS. Starting conversations about your visa status early in the interview process helps both sides plan around the H-1B cap and filing deadlines.
