Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Mental Health Therapy Jobs at Justice Resource Institute Jobs
Confirm your licensure meets Massachusetts requirements
Justice Resource Institute operates primarily in Massachusetts, so your LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent credential needs to be either already valid in-state or transferable. Check the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health Professionals before applying to avoid delays at the offer stage.
Target community-based openings over outpatient clinic roles
Justice Resource Institute staffs heavily in community-based, school, and residential programs. These roles often have more consistent H-1B filing history than general outpatient positions, so filtering your search by program type rather than job title gets you closer to sponsorship-eligible openings.
Gather supervised clinical hours documentation early
H-1B petitions for mental health therapy roles require proof that your position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Compile transcripts, licensure records, and letters documenting your supervised clinical hours now so your employer's attorney can build a strong I-129 filing without delays.
Ask directly about H-1B filing timelines during interviews
USCIS cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. During the offer stage, confirm whether Justice Resource Institute plans to file under the cap or use a cap-exempt pathway, since nonprofit community mental health organizations may qualify for cap exemption.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship history
Browsing every open posting manually wastes time. Use Migrate Mate to identify which specific Mental Health Therapy openings at Justice Resource Institute are currently active and aligned with their H-1B sponsorship patterns in this function.
Verify the prevailing wage level aligns with your experience
Justice Resource Institute must certify a prevailing wage with the DOL as part of the H-1B Labor Condition Application. If your offered salary falls at a lower wage level than your years of clinical experience justify, address this in salary negotiations before the LCA is filed.

Find Mental Health Therapy at Justice Resource Institute JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Justice Resource Institute sponsor H-1B visas for Mental Health Therapists?
Yes, Justice Resource Institute has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Mental Health Therapy roles. As a nonprofit organization providing community-based behavioral health services, it may also qualify as a cap-exempt H-1B employer, which means petitions can be filed year-round rather than being subject to the annual lottery.
How do I apply for Mental Health Therapy jobs at Justice Resource Institute?
You can find current Mental Health Therapy openings at Justice Resource Institute through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles by sponsorship history and role type. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific program area, whether residential, school-based, or community outreach, and explicitly address your licensure status and H-1B requirements in your cover letter.
Which visa types are commonly used for Mental Health Therapy roles at Justice Resource Institute?
The H-1B is the primary visa used for Mental Health Therapy positions at Justice Resource Institute, as these roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. If you're already on OPT or STEM OPT, you may be able to begin employment while the H-1B petition is processed.
What qualifications and experience does Justice Resource Institute expect for Mental Health Therapy roles?
Most Mental Health Therapy positions at Justice Resource Institute require a master's degree in social work, counseling psychology, or a closely related field, along with a Massachusetts clinical license such as LCSW or LMHC or active pursuit of one. Experience working with high-need populations in community or residential settings is strongly preferred and supports the specialty occupation classification needed for H-1B approval.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take when hired by Justice Resource Institute?
If Justice Resource Institute qualifies as a cap-exempt employer, the H-1B petition can be filed at any time and USCIS standard processing typically takes three to six months. Premium processing reduces this to about 15 business days. If the role is cap-subject, you'll need to register in the March lottery and cannot start until October 1 at the earliest.
