Frame Your Technical Background for Industrial Support
Konecranes hires Customer Support staff who can engage with crane and lifting equipment clients on a technical level. Highlight any background in mechanical systems, industrial operations, or field service coordination when preparing your resume and application materials.
Target Roles Near Major Service Hubs
Konecranes operates service centers and port equipment facilities across the U.S. Focusing your search on locations with heavy manufacturing or logistics infrastructure increases your chances of landing a Customer Support opening with active hiring and sponsorship capacity.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsoring Openings
Not every Customer Support listing at a manufacturing company leads to sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to browse Konecranes openings filtered by visa type so you only apply to roles where sponsorship has been confirmed through actual filing history.
Align Your OPT Start Date with Their Hiring Cycle
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window before applying. Konecranes needs enough time to onboard you and initiate an H-1B petition before your OPT expires. A cap-subject H-1B filed in March takes effect October 1, so timing your application accordingly matters.
Confirm the Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet specialty occupation standards, meaning a bachelor's degree in a specific field must be a genuine job requirement. For Customer Support at a technical manufacturer like Konecranes, degrees in engineering technology, industrial management, or supply chain typically support this classification.
Ask About Internal Transfer Options During the Offer Stage
Konecranes operates globally, and some candidates enter through international offices before transferring to U.S. roles. If you receive an offer abroad, ask your recruiter whether an L-1 intracompany transfer pathway is available alongside or instead of H-1B sponsorship.

Does Konecranes sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Support roles?
Yes, Konecranes has sponsored H-1B visas for Customer Support positions. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, so confirming with the recruiter during your initial conversation is the most reliable approach. Roles that require a specific bachelor's degree, such as engineering or industrial management, are more likely to qualify under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I apply for Customer Support jobs at Konecranes?
You can apply directly through the Konecranes careers portal. Before applying, filter for roles that align with your visa type and work authorization timeline. Migrate Mate lets you browse Konecranes Customer Support openings with verified sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize applications where your visa situation is a realistic fit rather than an afterthought.
Which visa types does Konecranes use for Customer Support positions?
Konecranes has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for roles in this function. H-1B is the primary long-term sponsorship path. OPT and CPT allow students to begin work before H-1B sponsorship is initiated. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories under the USMCA agreement.
What qualifications does Konecranes expect for Customer Support roles?
Konecranes typically looks for candidates with backgrounds in engineering, industrial technology, supply chain, or business operations. Customer Support at a heavy equipment manufacturer often involves coordinating service contracts, resolving technical issues with cranes or port equipment, and managing parts logistics. Strong communication skills and familiarity with industrial systems carry real weight in the hiring process.
How do I plan my visa timeline when targeting a Customer Support role at Konecranes?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the cap-subject petition must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're currently on OPT, verify you have enough time remaining for Konecranes to complete onboarding and initiate the petition. TN visa holders and CPT students have more flexible timelines since those pathways are not subject to the annual lottery and cap.
