Align your credentials to KPMG's service lines
KPMG's cybersecurity practice spans risk advisory, compliance, and technical security for financial services and audit clients. Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CISA carry more weight here than generic IT security credentials because they map directly to the advisory work KPMG sells.
Target roles tied to client-facing advisory work
KPMG's Cybersecurity Manager openings in accounting and auditing contexts often require experience advising regulated industries, not just internal IT roles. Framing your background around client engagements, third-party risk, or regulatory compliance positions you closer to what hiring teams are screening for.
Search open Cybersecurity Manager positions on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters KPMG's open Cybersecurity Manager roles by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify which positions are actively open to H-1B or E-3 candidates before you apply, rather than discovering sponsorship limitations after an offer conversation.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
KPMG sponsors H-1B, E-3, and employment-based Green Card pathways, but each has a different internal approval process. Raise your sponsorship category during the final interview round, not after signing, so the recruiting team can route the request correctly from day one.
Understand how PERM timing affects your start date
If you're targeting an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card through KPMG, the PERM labor certification process with the DOL typically runs six to twelve months before USCIS filing even begins. Factor this into your timeline if you're transitioning from a time-limited status like OPT or a 60-day grace period.
Prepare for a structured interview process with case elements
KPMG's Cybersecurity Manager interviews typically include a technical case or scenario assessment alongside behavioral rounds. Practicing security risk scenarios framed around audit or financial services clients, rather than purely technical threat modeling, reflects the advisory nature of the role.

Find Cybersecurity Manager at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Cybersecurity Managers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Cybersecurity Manager roles. The firm has an established immigration process through its HR and legal teams, which handles the I-129 petition and USCIS filing. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing your application to align with the annual lottery window in March is essential. Cap-exempt situations, such as transferring from a qualifying institution, follow a separate path.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Cybersecurity Manager roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international hires, E-3 visas for Australian citizens, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 or EB-3 categories for longer-term employees. Cybersecurity Managers who progress within the firm often pursue PERM-based Green Card sponsorship after establishing a track record in the role. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree level, and career stage.
What qualifications and experience does KPMG expect for a Cybersecurity Manager?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, combined with several years of progressive cybersecurity experience. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are strongly preferred because they align with the advisory and compliance work KPMG delivers to audit and financial services clients. Prior consulting or client-facing experience is a meaningful differentiator at the manager level.
How do I apply for Cybersecurity Manager jobs at KPMG?
You can browse and apply for Cybersecurity Manager positions at KPMG through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm H-1B or E-3 eligibility upfront. KPMG's application process typically involves an initial recruiter screen, followed by technical and behavioral interview rounds. Tailoring your resume to reflect advisory, risk, or compliance experience relevant to KPMG's accounting and auditing clients will strengthen your application.
How do I time my job search at KPMG around the H-1B cap?
KPMG typically begins recruiting for roles with October 1 start dates well in advance of the H-1B lottery registration window, which opens in March. If you're on OPT, confirm whether your program qualifies for the STEM extension, which gives you up to three lottery attempts. USCIS processes selected petitions between April and September, so a gap between your OPT end date and October 1 approval is common and manageable with proper planning.
