Align your degree to Langan's disciplines
Langan files Labor Condition Applications tied to specific engineering specialties. Before applying, confirm your degree field maps directly to civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering so the H-1B specialty occupation standard is met without additional documentation.
Target offices with active project pipelines
Langan's Service Engineer hiring concentrates around offices supporting large infrastructure and remediation projects. Research which regional offices have recently won municipal or industrial contracts, since active project demand drives headcount decisions and sponsorship willingness.
Use OPT strategically before H-1B filing season
If you're on F-1 OPT, time your start date so your first year of employment begins before the April H-1B registration window. Langan has sponsored F-1 OPT holders into H-1B status, and having a performance record on file strengthens the internal case for sponsorship.
Confirm Langan's LCA prevailing wage tier early
DOL prevailing wage determinations vary by location and experience level. Ask your Langan recruiter which wage level they intend to file under for the specific office so you can assess whether the offer reflects a Level I, II, or III designation before accepting.
Prepare a professional engineering portfolio for interviews
Langan's consulting model means Service Engineers are expected to contribute to client deliverables quickly. Bring documented project examples covering site assessments, permitting, or field investigations to demonstrate billable readiness, which also reinforces the specialty occupation case for USCIS purposes.
Find open roles through Migrate Mate before applying directly
Search Migrate Mate to filter Service Engineer openings at Langan by visa type and location. Knowing which offices are actively hiring for sponsored roles saves time and lets you prioritize applications where sponsorship has already been confirmed for the function.

Find Service Engineer at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsor H-1B visas for Service Engineers?
Yes, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsors H-1B visas for Service Engineers. The company files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL for engineering roles classified as specialty occupations, which Service Engineer positions typically satisfy given the degree requirements in civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering. Sponsorship is generally handled through Langan's internal HR and legal process once an offer is extended.
How do I apply for Service Engineer jobs at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services?
You can browse and apply for Service Engineer openings at Langan through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Applications typically require a resume, academic transcripts, and sometimes a project portfolio. Langan's recruiting team conducts technical interviews focused on site work, permitting, and project delivery experience relevant to their consulting practice.
Which visa types does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services use for Service Engineers?
Langan sponsors several visa categories for Service Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. The appropriate visa depends on your nationality, current status, and career stage. TN and F-1 OPT pathways can offer faster timelines than H-1B for eligible candidates.
What qualifications are expected for a Service Engineer role at Langan?
Langan's Service Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in civil, environmental, geotechnical, or a closely related engineering discipline. Familiarity with site investigation, environmental compliance, or infrastructure project delivery is valued. Professional Engineer licensure or progress toward it is a plus. For H-1B or EB sponsorship purposes, USCIS requires the degree field to correspond directly to the job duties.
How do I understand the H-1B and Green Card timeline if I join Langan as a Service Engineer?
H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start, so your offer timing matters. If selected, USCIS adjudicates petitions over several months. For a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, Langan would initiate PERM labor certification with the DOL, which can take a year or more before the I-140 petition stage. Starting the Green Card process early in your tenure significantly reduces long-term wait time.
