Tailor your credentials for engineering consulting BD
Langan's Business Development roles sit at the intersection of technical knowledge and client relationship management. Highlight any experience in land development, environmental services, or infrastructure consulting on your resume, not just general sales or BD work.
Verify your degree field supports specialty occupation
H-1B eligibility for BD roles at consulting firms requires a degree in a directly related specialty field. Urban planning, civil engineering, environmental science, or business with a technical focus generally qualify. A general business degree without technical coursework may face USCIS scrutiny.
Target Langan offices in active growth markets
Langan operates across major U.S. metro markets. Offices pursuing regional infrastructure or real estate development pipelines tend to post BD roles more frequently. Focusing your outreach on offices in high-growth markets increases your chances of finding a team actively hiring.
Browse open BD roles using Migrate Mate
Langan posts Business Development positions across multiple locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter their current openings by role type and sponsorship eligibility so you can identify which positions are actively available before reaching out to their recruiting team.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Ask directly during the second-round interview whether the specific BD role you're applying for has been designated as sponsorship-eligible. Consulting firms sometimes differentiate sponsorship eligibility by seniority level or client-facing function, so confirming early prevents surprises during offer negotiation.
Understand H-1B cap timing if you're on OPT
If you're working under F-1 OPT, your employer must file the H-1B petition by the April 1 deadline for an October 1 start. Langan's HR team coordinates this through their immigration counsel, so flag your OPT expiration date early so the filing timeline aligns with your status.

Does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Business Development roles. The role must meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements, which means your degree should be in a field directly related to the position, such as civil engineering, environmental science, urban planning, or a technical business discipline. Langan works with immigration counsel to manage the filing process.
Which visa types does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services support for Business Development roles?
Langan has sponsored a range of work visa categories for employees, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. For Business Development specifically, H-1B and TN are the most common paths for candidates who already have a qualifying offer. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically follows after a period of full-time employment.
What qualifications does Langan look for in Business Development candidates who need sponsorship?
Langan's BD roles typically require a background in engineering, environmental consulting, or land development, combined with demonstrated client relationship or proposal experience. Candidates who need visa sponsorship should have a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical or professional field. Strong familiarity with the architecture, engineering, and construction industry is a consistent expectation across their BD job postings.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services?
You can browse and apply for Langan's open Business Development positions directly through their careers page. If you want to filter specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lists Langan's current openings with sponsorship context so you can identify the right fit before applying. Tailoring your application to highlight engineering consulting or land development experience improves your chances of moving past the initial screen.
How do I manage my visa timeline during the hiring process at Langan?
If you're on F-1 OPT, flag your authorization end date to Langan's recruiter early in the process. The H-1B cap filing window opens in March each year for an October 1 start, so your offer needs to be in place well before then. For TN visa holders, status is employer-specific and a new TN is required when changing employers. Langan's HR team coordinates with immigration counsel, but you should proactively track your own deadlines.
