Align your credentials with U.S. licensure requirements
Life Time's Hospitalist roles require active U.S. state medical licensure, so confirm your ECFMG certification and USMLE scores are current before applying. Gaps in licensure documentation are the most common reason offers stall at the sponsorship stage.
Target Life Time locations in high-demand states
Life Time clusters its flagship properties in states like Texas, Minnesota, and New York, where physician licensing timelines differ significantly. Prioritize applications to clubs in states where you already hold or can quickly obtain a medical license.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 differ for physicians
Life Time has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for this role. EB-2 requires a national interest waiver or advanced degree showing, while EB-3 involves the PERM labor certification process through DOL, which can add over a year to your timeline.
Ask about sponsorship scope during the offer stage
When you receive an offer, ask explicitly whether sponsorship covers only the initial petition or also extends through Green Card filing. Knowing whether Life Time will support the full PERM and I-140 process shapes how you evaluate the role long-term.

Does Life Time sponsor H-1B visas for Hospitalists?
Life Time's documented sponsorship activity for Hospitalist roles centers on employment-based immigrant visas, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for eligible candidates. H-1B sponsorship for Hospitalists is less established in their track record, so you should ask the recruiting team directly whether H-1B is available for the specific role and location you're targeting.
How do I apply for Hospitalist jobs at Life Time?
You can browse open Hospitalist positions at Life Time through Migrate Mate, which filters listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your materials to Life Time's wellness-focused clinical environment rather than a traditional hospital setting. Be prepared to share your licensure status, ECFMG certification if applicable, and your current work authorization situation early in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Hospitalist roles at Life Time?
Life Time has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Hospitalist positions, which are the most common pathways for physicians seeking permanent U.S. work authorization. F-1 OPT and CPT have also been used for candidates earlier in their training or fellowship. Each pathway has different documentation requirements and timelines, so confirming which category applies to your situation before submitting an application saves significant back-and-forth.
What qualifications does Life Time expect for Hospitalist candidates?
Life Time's Hospitalist roles require an M.D. or D.O. degree, completion of residency training, and an active medical license in the state where the position is located. Board certification or eligibility in internal medicine or a related specialty is typically expected. Because Life Time operates in a sports and recreation context, experience in preventive medicine, sports medicine, or high-performance health environments can strengthen your application beyond the baseline clinical credentials.
How do I estimate the timeline for visa sponsorship at Life Time as a Hospitalist?
The timeline depends heavily on which visa pathway applies to you. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS can be confirmed before you start. EB-3 sponsorship involving a PERM labor certification through DOL typically adds 12 to 18 months or more to the process before an I-140 can be filed. Building that timeline into your job search, especially if you have a hard deadline like an expiring status, is essential when targeting Life Time specifically.
