INTRODUCTION
At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. Community is what we are and it’s what we do. It’s what makes us different. To create the best ride for all, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for what they bring. The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch, and with our business partners to generate profitable revenue streams. You will be responsible for bringing exceptional strategic and analytical skills to define our strategy and lead our execution in this highly cross-functional technological area. Through your leadership, you’ll bridge technical, business, and operations worlds as you design technologies with creative and prolific engineers, leverage your technical expertise to identify setbacks and roadblocks within a project and generate solutions for resolving them quickly. You will have a bias for action to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Lyft speed. Matching and Fulfillment is central to the Lyft marketplace and how riders and drivers experience Lyft: estimating ETAs and the cost of fulfillment, optimizing driver-rider matches, and delivering on our on-time promise. The Matching and Fulfillment group is responsible for dynamically matching supply and demand to balance drivers’ expectations, riders’ expectations and Lyft’s objectives.

- Design algorithms to assign drivers to riders, leveraging passenger waiting time to increase profit and ride conversion
- Design the infrastructure and services to support Matching and Fulfillment across the Rideshare platform
This individual should:
- Have an Operations Research/ML/algorithmic background
- Have shipped products in deeply technical and analytical domains - able to use data and experimentation to guide a large cross-functional team towards a long-term vision
- Be detail-oriented and able to dive deep into complex technical concepts, but also abstract them to executives, stakeholders, operations, and legal
- Maintain a strong POV on what to build for our customers, amidst many different stakeholders with different goals and world-class scientists + engineers on the team
- Have experience managing, coaching, and developing a small team of PMs to execute and lead teams flawlessly
- Understand data pipelines, event driven systems and machine learning workflows
- Identify existing gaps in the rider and driver experience and propose novel solutions to bridging those gaps effectively
Responsibilities:
- Define shared vision + strategy across Matching and Fulfillment teams (Offer Generation, Matching, Infrastructure)

- Manage a group of PMs to execute together on shared strategy
- Develop and own quarterly and yearly roadmaps and financial impact for multiple engineering and science teams
- Write product requirements documents and review experiment design docs and technical specifications for strategic projects across Matching and Fulfillment
- Ideate impactful projects, then break them down into MVP and further milestones to test and develop the hypothesis through fast experimentation, pivoting when the data hints

Experience:

Frame your PM credentials for U.S. standards
Lyft's recruiting team evaluates product managers against U.S. market benchmarks. Translate your experience into outcomes: ARR influenced, DAU growth, cross-functional teams led. Degrees from outside the U.S. should include an equivalency evaluation from a NACES-accredited credential evaluator before you apply.
Target Lyft's rideshare and marketplace product teams
Lyft concentrates senior PM hiring around its core marketplace, driver experience, and pricing platforms. Align your application materials to these verticals explicitly. Hiring managers for these teams are more likely to have established sponsorship workflows than newer or experimental product areas.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before your interview process
If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 visa lets Lyft sponsor you without lottery exposure. Raise this early with the recruiter so the offer letter and Labor Condition Application are scoped correctly from the start, avoiding rework after an offer is extended.
Time H-1B conversations around the annual lottery window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're interviewing at Lyft between January and March, ask directly whether an offer can be timed to align with registration. A late-cycle offer may mean waiting a full year or starting on OPT STEM extension instead.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Manager, Product Management roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Lyft's current Manager, Product Management openings by visa type. This lets you identify which roles are actively listed and cross-reference sponsorship history before you invest time in a full application cycle.
Understand how PERM timing affects your long-term path
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, Lyft must file a PERM labor certification with DOL before the I-140 petition. This process typically takes 12 to 18 months. Clarify during negotiation whether your offer includes a commitment to initiate PERM within a defined timeframe.

Find Manager, Product Management at Lyft JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Lyft sponsor H-1B visas for Manager, Product Managements?
Yes, Lyft sponsors H-1B visas for Manager, Product Management roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery administered by USCIS each March, your start date depends on selection. Lyft's product management hiring has historically included international candidates, and the company's immigration infrastructure is set up to handle the full petition process through an external immigration counsel.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manager, Product Management roles at Lyft?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for this role. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which skips the lottery and allows the same two-year renewable status. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the USMCA. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions are used for recent graduates, and J-1 is occasionally used for sponsored exchange programs. Longer-term, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card paths are available for eligible candidates.
What qualifications and experience does Lyft expect for Manager, Product Management roles?
Lyft typically looks for candidates with several years of product management experience in technology environments, including demonstrated ownership of a product area from discovery through launch. For manager-level roles, you're expected to have led or mentored other PMs. Experience with marketplace dynamics, growth metrics, or consumer mobile products translates well to Lyft's core business. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is standard, and an MBA is common but not required.
How do I apply for Manager, Product Management jobs at Lyft?
You can browse and apply through Lyft's careers site directly, or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Lyft's Manager, Product Management openings that include visa sponsorship. Applications typically move through an initial recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, and a structured panel covering product strategy, execution, and leadership. Tailoring your application to Lyft's marketplace and rideshare context improves your chances of advancing past the initial screen.
How do I manage my visa status timeline when interviewing at Lyft?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your end date before accepting an offer. USCIS requires the H-1B cap-subject petition to be filed during the March registration window, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you're selected in the lottery, a cap-gap provision covers the gap. Communicate your authorization timeline to Lyft's recruiter early so the offer structure accounts for it.
