Tips for Finding Manager, Product Management Jobs at Qualcomm
Frame your PM portfolio around platform ecosystems
Qualcomm's media and entertainment work spans Snapdragon-powered streaming, gaming, and XR platforms. Structure your portfolio around cross-functional product launches on hardware-adjacent software rather than pure software products, this directly aligns with what hiring managers in this division evaluate.
Confirm your visa type before the offer stage
Qualcomm sponsors several visa categories for this role, so clarify which applies to your situation before an offer is extended. Misalignment between your status and the petition type the employer prepares for can delay your start date by weeks.
Time your application around Qualcomm's fiscal hiring cycles
Qualcomm's product management hiring tends to cluster around the start of new fiscal planning cycles. Submitting applications in that window puts you in front of teams with approved headcount, which matters when sponsorship requires budget-level sign-off in addition to HR approval.
Build credentials that satisfy specialty occupation standards
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field. A product management background grounded in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline strengthens the employer's petition and reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Manager roles at Qualcomm
Qualcomm posts Manager, Product Management openings across multiple business units simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Qualcomm roles that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the sponsorship pathway is already confirmed rather than assumed.
Prepare for a PERM-aware career progression conversation
Qualcomm has an established immigration program that includes green card sponsorship through PERM for long-term employees. In later interview rounds, be prepared to discuss your career trajectory in a way that demonstrates sustained value, since managers who initiate PERM expect multi-year retention from sponsored hires.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Qualcomm sponsor H-1B visas for Manager, Product Managements?
Yes, Qualcomm sponsors H-1B visas for Manager, Product Management roles. The company participates in the H-1B cap lottery each April for new applicants and also uses cap-exempt filings where applicable. If you're already in valid H-1B status with another employer, Qualcomm can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start after USCIS receives the petition rather than waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Manager, Product Management jobs at Qualcomm?
Applications go through Qualcomm's careers portal, where Manager, Product Management roles are listed by business unit and location. Migrate Mate aggregates Qualcomm's open roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, so you can identify the right positions before applying directly. Tailor your resume to reflect cross-functional product ownership and hardware-adjacent software experience, which aligns with Qualcomm's media and entertainment product scope.
Which visa types does Qualcomm commonly use for Manager, Product Management roles?
Qualcomm sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for specialty occupation hires, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and J-1 visas for certain exchange programs. For candidates on F-1 OPT or CPT, Qualcomm has a track record of supporting the transition to H-1B. For long-term hires, the company also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa classifications through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications and experience does Qualcomm expect for Manager, Product Management roles?
Qualcomm typically looks for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical field, with several years of product management experience in hardware-software products or platform ecosystems. For manager-level roles, demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and owning product roadmaps in media, streaming, gaming, or XR is a strong differentiator. An MBA is common but rarely listed as a hard requirement.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship timeline after receiving a Qualcomm offer?
Once Qualcomm extends an offer, their in-house immigration team or outside counsel initiates the petition process. For H-1B transfers, you can generally start after USCIS acknowledges receipt. For new H-1B cap filings, the October 1 start date means there can be a several-month gap between offer acceptance and authorized employment, so align your current employment end date with that window before resigning.
