Frame your credentials around BCG's product model
BCG hires product managers who bridge client strategy and technical delivery. Before applying, document case studies where you owned a product roadmap end-to-end for enterprise clients, not just internal tools. Consulting-adjacent experience translates better than pure startup product work.
Target BCG's digital and technology practices specifically
BCG's Digital Ventures and BCGX practices have the highest density of product management roles and a longer runway for sponsorship conversations. Apply through those practice area portals rather than the general careers page to land in front of the right hiring teams.
Use Migrate Mate to filter BCG openings by visa type
BCG posts Manager, Product Management roles across multiple offices with varying sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter active BCG openings by the visa category you need, so you're only applying to positions where your status is already accounted for.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
BCG sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT depending on your nationality and status. Raise your visa situation with your recruiter after a final-round interview, not during early screens. This timing avoids early disqualification while giving BCG's immigration team enough runway to prepare filings.
Understand cap timing if you need an H-1B transfer or new petition
If you're already in H-1B status at another employer, BCG can file a cap-exempt transfer. If you need a new H-1B, USCIS only accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start. Build your interview timeline backward from that window to avoid a six-month gap in employment authorization.
Secure your degree equivalency documentation early
BCG's immigration team will require a credential evaluation for non-U.S. degrees as part of the LCA and I-129 filing process. Commission a NACES-accredited evaluation before your offer is extended so the onboarding timeline isn't delayed waiting on documentation that takes three to four weeks to process.

Find Manager, Product Management at Boston Consulting Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Manager, Product Managements?
Yes. BCG sponsors H-1B visas for Manager, Product Management roles and has done so consistently across multiple office locations. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the degree requirements and complexity of the work. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your start date will align with the October 1 fiscal year, so timeline planning with BCG's recruiting team is essential.
How do I apply for Manager, Product Management jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
Applications go through BCG's careers portal, but roles within BCGX and BCG Digital Ventures are often listed separately from the main consulting track. Search by practice area and location rather than just job title. You can also browse verified BCG openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which helps narrow to roles where international candidates are actively considered.
Which visa types does BCG commonly use for Manager, Product Management roles?
BCG sponsors H-1B visas for most nationalities, E-3 visas for Australian citizens, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT or CPT for students completing U.S. degrees. The right visa depends on your citizenship and current status. BCG's immigration team typically engages an outside counsel firm to manage filings once an offer is extended.
What qualifications does BCG expect for Manager, Product Management candidates?
BCG generally expects a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business, with an MBA or advanced degree viewed favorably at the Manager level. Beyond credentials, demonstrated experience owning product strategy for enterprise clients, strong stakeholder communication, and familiarity with agile delivery in complex organizational environments are the practical differentiators in their evaluation process.
How do I think about the immigration timeline when targeting a BCG offer?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date before accepting an offer. BCG will need several weeks to prepare LCA and I-129 filings, so a tight OPT runway creates real risk. For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS allows you to start work once BCG files the petition, with no need to wait for approval. Build at least 60 days of buffer between your target start date and your current authorization expiry.
