Frame your degree as specialty occupation evidence
BCG's H-1B petitions for Project Management Consultants require demonstrating a specialty occupation. A degree in business, engineering, or operations management strengthens your case. A general management degree with no clear field alignment can complicate USCIS approval.
Target BCG's consulting recruiting cycles early
BCG recruits Project Management Consultants on a fixed timeline tied to MBA and undergraduate calendars. Missing the fall or spring recruiting window by even a few weeks means waiting another cycle, which can be a serious problem if your OPT clock is running.
Search open Project Management Consultant roles on Migrate Mate
Filter by BCG and visa type to surface roles actively open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate's job board focuses specifically on visa-sponsoring employers, so you're not spending time applying to postings that won't support work authorization.
Understand BCG's LCA filing requirements before your offer call
Your offer will be tied to a specific office location, and BCG must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL for that worksite. If you're asked to relocate or work from a different office later, a new LCA is required before the change takes effect.
Prepare for H-1B cap timing in your first year
If BCG sponsors you for an H-1B and you're not already cap-exempt, your petition enters the April lottery. Negotiate your offer with this in mind. A start date that assumes cap approval before October 1 can create a gap if your registration isn't selected.

Find Project Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants?
Yes, BCG sponsors H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants and has done so consistently across its U.S. offices. The firm also sponsors E-3 visas for Australian citizens, H-1B1 visas for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican professionals whose roles qualify under USMCA.
Which visa types does Boston Consulting Group commonly use for Project Management Consultant roles?
BCG uses several nonimmigrant visa categories for Project Management Consultants, including H-1B, E-3, H-1B1, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT. The right category depends on your nationality and current immigration status. H-1B is the most broadly applicable, but E-3 and TN often move faster for eligible nationals since they bypass the lottery.
How do I apply for Project Management Consultant jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
Applications go through BCG's careers portal, which lists roles by office and experience level. The firm runs structured recruiting cycles tied to MBA and undergraduate calendars, so timing matters. You can also find sponsored Project Management Consultant openings at BCG on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa-sponsored candidates.
What qualifications does Boston Consulting Group expect for Project Management Consultant roles?
BCG expects a bachelor's degree at minimum, typically in a business, engineering, or analytical field. MBA candidates are commonly recruited for associate-level consulting roles. Strong analytical, client-facing, and project delivery skills are central to the role. For visa purposes, your degree field should connect clearly to the job duties to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I plan my timeline if BCG is sponsoring my H-1B for a Project Management Consultant role?
If you need a new H-1B, BCG must submit your registration in March for the annual lottery, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 if selected. Build your offer negotiation around this window. If you're already in valid H-1B status with another employer, BCG can file a transfer petition and you can start as soon as USCIS receives it.
