Frame Your Credentials Around Infrastructure Consulting
Walker Consultants focuses on parking, transportation, and facility projects, so tailor your resume to highlight project delivery in built-environment sectors. PMP certification or experience with owner's representation work will resonate with their hiring teams.
Target Offices Where Workload Justifies Sponsorship
Walker operates regional offices across the U.S., and sponsorship decisions often follow project pipeline density. Research which offices have active infrastructure or municipal contracts, since those locations are most likely to have headcount pressure that makes sponsorship practical.
Transition OPT to H-1B Before Your Authorization Window Closes
If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer must file your H-1B petition before the April 1 cap-subject filing window for an October 1 start date. Confirm Walker's internal HR timeline well before your OPT expiration to avoid a gap in work authorization.
Understand How TN Applies to Consulting Roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the Management Consultant category if your role involves independent advisory work rather than staff augmentation. Confirm with Walker's immigration counsel that your specific project management duties satisfy DOL's TN occupation definition.
Prepare for PERM Early If You're on H-1B
EB-2 and EB-3 PERM filings require the employer to run a DOL-supervised recruitment process proving no qualified U.S. workers were available. Raise the topic with Walker's HR during your second year on H-1B so the process can begin before your six-year cap approaches.

Does Walker Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants?
Yes, Walker Consultants has sponsored H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants. Because Walker operates as a professional consulting firm with specialized infrastructure and facility project work, H-1B specialty occupation status is generally supportable for this role. Your degree field and the specifics of your project management duties will factor into how the petition is structured.
How do I apply for Project Management Consultant jobs at Walker Consultants?
Applications go through Walker Consultants' careers page, where openings are listed by office and practice area. Migrate Mate also aggregates Walker's Project Management Consultant postings and filters them by visa sponsorship availability, which helps you prioritize roles where sponsorship is part of the hiring conversation from the start.
Which visa types does Walker Consultants commonly use for Project Management Consultants?
Walker Consultants has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for this function. H-1B is the most common route for long-term sponsorship. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose duties align with the Management Consultant occupation category under USMCA.
What qualifications does Walker Consultants expect for Project Management Consultant roles?
Walker typically hires candidates with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field, combined with hands-on project delivery experience. PMP certification strengthens your candidacy. Experience with parking structures, transportation facilities, or municipal infrastructure projects is particularly relevant given Walker's core practice areas.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if Walker Consultants hires me?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS takes three to six months after the October 1 fiscal year start date. If you need faster approval, employers can request premium processing for a 15-business-day adjudication window. Factor in Walker's internal preparation time before USCIS filing when planning your start date.
