Align your portfolio to Qualcomm's roadmap
Qualcomm Product Directors are expected to own end-to-end product strategy for chips, modems, or licensing platforms. Frame your portfolio around hardware-software integration, platform launches, or go-to-market work in technology-adjacent industries rather than pure consumer or media products.
Clarify your visa category before applying
Qualcomm sponsors multiple visa types, so knowing whether you need H-1B cap filing, an OPT extension, or a TN changes your timeline significantly. Confirm your current status and expiry before your first recruiter screen so you can answer sponsorship questions confidently.
Target roles with active LCA filings on DOL
Before applying, search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for Qualcomm Labor Condition Applications filed for product or director-level titles. Active LCAs signal that a role is genuinely open and that Qualcomm's legal team is already engaged on sponsorship for that position.
Request a sponsorship confirmation at the offer stage
Qualcomm's recruiting process can move quickly from loop interviews to offer. At the offer call, ask directly whether the role is flagged for sponsorship support and which immigration counsel will handle your petition, so there are no surprises once USCIS filing windows open.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Product Director roles
Sponsorship-eligible Product Director openings at Qualcomm aren't always easy to filter on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship roles at Qualcomm by visa type and seniority, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare your PERM documentation early for long-term paths
If your goal is a Green Card through an EB-2 or EB-3 route, the PERM labor certification process starts well before your petition. Work with Qualcomm's immigration team from day one to establish your priority date and avoid gaps between visa status and permanent residence timelines.

Find Product Director at Qualcomm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualcomm sponsor H-1B visas for Product Directors?
Yes, Qualcomm sponsors H-1B visas for Product Director roles and has a dedicated immigration team that manages the process. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing matters, as petitions must be filed in April for an October start date. Qualcomm also supports H-1B transfers if you're already in valid H-1B status with another employer, which bypasses the lottery entirely.
How do I apply for Product Director jobs at Qualcomm?
Apply directly through Qualcomm's careers portal and flag visa sponsorship requirements in your application or early recruiter conversation. The hiring process for senior product roles typically includes a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, and a full loop with cross-functional stakeholders. You can also find sponsorship-verified Product Director openings at Qualcomm on Migrate Mate, filtered by visa type, before applying.
Which visa types does Qualcomm commonly use for Product Directors?
Qualcomm sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Product Director roles, along with EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for permanent residence. H-1B is the most common route for full-time hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can bridge the gap while an H-1B petition is pending.
What qualifications and experience does Qualcomm expect for Product Director roles?
Qualcomm Product Director roles typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, with many postings preferring a master's degree. Candidates are expected to bring experience owning product strategy for hardware platforms, wireless technologies, or semiconductor products. Domain knowledge in connectivity, mobile, or licensing is a strong differentiator. Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams across engineering, marketing, and business development is standard at this level.
How do I navigate the timeline between a Qualcomm offer and my visa start date?
If you need an H-1B cap filing, there's a fixed federal timeline: USCIS accepts petitions in April, and the earliest work start date is October 1. Qualcomm's immigration counsel will advise on premium processing, which shortens adjudication to roughly 15 business days but doesn't change the October start date for cap-subject cases. If you're on OPT, make sure your authorization covers the gap period, and confirm with Qualcomm's HR team whether a cap-gap extension applies to your situation.
