INTRODUCTION
At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. Community is what we are and it’s what we do. It’s what makes us different. To create the best ride for all, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for what they bring. The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch, and with our business partners to generate profitable revenue streams. You will be responsible for bringing exceptional strategic and analytical skills to define our strategy and lead our execution in this highly cross-functional technological area. Through your leadership, you’ll bridge technical, business, and operations worlds as you design technologies with creative and prolific engineers, leverage your technical expertise to identify setbacks and roadblocks within a project and generate solutions for resolving them quickly. You will have a bias for action to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Lyft speed. Matching and Fulfillment is central to the Lyft marketplace and how riders and drivers experience Lyft: estimating ETAs and the cost of fulfillment, optimizing driver-rider matches, and delivering on our on-time promise. The Matching and Fulfillment group is responsible for dynamically matching supply and demand to balance drivers’ expectations, riders’ expectations and Lyft’s objectives.

- Design algorithms to assign drivers to riders, leveraging passenger waiting time to increase profit and ride conversion
- Design the infrastructure and services to support Matching and Fulfillment across the Rideshare platform
This individual should:
- Have an Operations Research/ML/algorithmic background
- Have shipped products in deeply technical and analytical domains - able to use data and experimentation to guide a large cross-functional team towards a long-term vision
- Be detail-oriented and able to dive deep into complex technical concepts, but also abstract them to executives, stakeholders, operations, and legal
- Maintain a strong POV on what to build for our customers, amidst many different stakeholders with different goals and world-class scientists + engineers on the team
- Have experience managing, coaching, and developing a small team of PMs to execute and lead teams flawlessly
- Understand data pipelines, event driven systems and machine learning workflows
- Identify existing gaps in the rider and driver experience and propose novel solutions to bridging those gaps effectively
Responsibilities:
- Define shared vision + strategy across Matching and Fulfillment teams (Offer Generation, Matching, Infrastructure)
- Work closely with partner teams to represent the Matching and Fulfillment perspective on new initiatives, define requirements, and prioritize asks
- Manage a group of PMs to execute together on shared strategy
- Develop and own quarterly and yearly roadmaps and financial impact for multiple engineering and science teams
- Write product requirements documents and review experiment design docs and technical specifications for strategic projects across Matching and Fulfillment
- Ideate impactful projects, then break them down into MVP and further milestones to test and develop the hypothesis through fast experimentation, pivoting when the data hints
- Contribute to teams and initiatives across the whole Rideshare Marketplace organization
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of product management experience
- At least two years of people management experience, with at least one year of experience managing PMs

Frame Your PM Portfolio Around Marketplace Problems
Lyft's Product Lead interviews weight heavily on two-sided marketplace thinking. Before applying, rebuild your portfolio narratives around supply-demand dynamics, incentive design, or driver and rider retention, not just feature delivery metrics.
Confirm E-3 Eligibility Before Targeting Lyft
If you're an Australian citizen, Lyft sponsors the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and a faster path to starting work. Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation with a degree requirement before your first recruiter screen.
Search Lyft Product Lead Roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Lyft's open Product Lead positions by visa type so you only apply to roles explicitly open to sponsorship candidates, cutting out the guesswork before you spend time on applications.
Get Your LCA Timeline Into Your Negotiation
For H-1B transfers or new sponsorships, your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process the petition. Build that lead time into your expected start date during offer negotiations to avoid rushed filings.
Prepare Specialty Occupation Evidence Early
USCIS scrutinizes Product Manager titles for specialty occupation status. Gather degree transcripts, job descriptions from your previous roles, and any published work that ties your specific background to the technical or analytical requirements of the Lyft position.
Ask Recruiters About Lyft's PERM Sponsorship Policy
Lyft sponsors Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process for tenured employees, but policies on when sponsorship begins vary by team. Raise this in the final offer stage, not after you've signed, so expectations are set before your first day.

Find Product Lead at Lyft JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Lyft sponsor H-1B visas for Product Leads?
Yes, Lyft sponsors H-1B visas for Product Lead roles. The company has an established sponsorship process for this function, covering both new H-1B cap-subject petitions and transfers from existing H-1B holders. Because Product Lead positions require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, they generally meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, which is the core requirement for H-1B eligibility.
How do I apply for Product Lead jobs at Lyft?
You can browse and apply for Product Lead positions at Lyft through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship is available before applying. Lyft's process typically includes a recruiter screen, a product sense and analytical interview, and a final loop with cross-functional stakeholders. Tailoring your application to Lyft's marketplace-focused product culture improves your chances of moving through the screen.
Which visa types does Lyft commonly sponsor for Product Lead roles?
Lyft sponsors multiple visa categories for Product Leads, including the H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for eligible exchange visitors. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students in authorized work periods, and sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Lyft expect for a Product Lead role?
Lyft typically expects a bachelor's degree in a technical, analytical, or business field, though advanced degrees are common for senior Product Lead positions. Beyond credentials, the company prioritizes demonstrated experience with two-sided marketplace products, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional leadership. Product Leads at Lyft are expected to own roadmaps end to end, so prior experience managing a product area with measurable outcomes carries more weight than generalist PM experience.
How do I time my H-1B transfer to a Product Lead role at Lyft?
If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Lyft can file an H-1B transfer petition, and you're eligible to start work once USCIS receives the petition, not after approval. To avoid gaps, align your notice period with Lyft's filing timeline. DOL must certify the Labor Condition Application before the I-129 petition is filed, which typically adds one to two weeks to the process before USCIS even begins review.
