We value winning together—while learning, having fun, and making a profound difference for the dreamers and builders in the world. We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager II to help build and ship DigitalOcean’s Security Products with high execution quality and clear customer communication. This role sits at the intersection of security product strategy and engineering delivery, turning customer needs and security outcomes into well-scoped work, crisp requirements, and shippable increments. You will report to the Head of Security Products, who owns overall portfolio strategy and the broader Security voice.

- Work cross-functionally across Security, IAM, Networking, Support, Billing, and service teams to ensure integrated customer journeys, clear ownership boundaries, and clean remediation paths.
- Define and maintain release criteria for your scope, including quality bars, rollout approach, customer readiness inputs, and internal enablement requirements.
- Produce clear written narratives and launch assets that explain customer value, expected behavior, and operational considerations, in partnership with Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations.
- Create and maintain reusable templates, checklists, and stakeholder workflows that make product launches and customer updates consistent and low-friction.
- Help align incident response communications by maintaining customer-facing update templates, coordinating stakeholder workflows, and ensuring product and incident messaging remains accurate and timely during high-priority events.

Frame Your PM Experience Around Developer Products
DigitalOcean builds infrastructure for developers and SMBs, so your resume and portfolio should highlight experience with API-driven products, developer tooling, or cloud platforms. Hiring managers respond to candidates who understand the developer persona, not just generic product frameworks.
Confirm Your Visa Type Before Applying
DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B, TN, and OPT for product roles, but not every visa type suits every situation. Check whether you need a new petition, a transfer, or an OPT extension before outreach, so you can answer sponsorship questions confidently in early screens.
Target Roles That Align With DigitalOcean Core Products
Product Lead openings tied to Droplets, Kubernetes, App Platform, or managed databases signal active investment areas where headcount is growing. Focusing your applications on these product lines improves your odds of reaching a hiring manager who has budget and urgency.
Prepare Your I-129 Documentation Early in Negotiations
H-1B transfers require your employer to file a new I-129 with USCIS before your start date. If you're moving from another sponsor, gather your current approval notice, pay stubs, and degree credentials before the offer stage so DigitalOcean's legal team can move without delays.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsoring Product Lead Roles
Search Migrate Mate specifically for Product Lead positions at DigitalOcean to see open roles verified for visa sponsorship. Filtering by visa type before you apply saves you from reaching the offer stage only to discover sponsorship isn't available for your category.
Understand the PERM Timeline If You Want a Green Card Path
DigitalOcean has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS filing. PERM recruitment can take six to twelve months on its own, so raise your long-term immigration goals during offer negotiation, not after you've signed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DigitalOcean sponsor H-1B visas for Product Leads?
Yes, DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B visas for Product Lead roles. Product Lead positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines, given the degree requirements and technical complexity involved. If you're currently on H-1B with another employer, DigitalOcean can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition, without waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Product Lead jobs at DigitalOcean?
You can browse and apply for Product Lead roles at DigitalOcean directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lists open roles filtered by visa sponsorship availability. When you apply, tailor your materials to DigitalOcean's developer-focused product culture and be prepared to discuss sponsorship requirements upfront so recruiters can loop in their immigration team early.
Which visa types does DigitalOcean commonly sponsor for Product Lead roles?
DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B transfers and new cap-subject petitions, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time product roles, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and career stage.
What qualifications does DigitalOcean expect for a Product Lead role?
DigitalOcean's Product Lead roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, alongside hands-on product management experience in a cloud, infrastructure, or developer tools environment. Candidates who can demonstrate ownership of full product cycles, cross-functional collaboration with engineering, and familiarity with developer-centric metrics tend to progress furthest in the interview process.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship timeline when joining DigitalOcean as a Product Lead?
The timeline depends on your visa type. H-1B transfers allow you to start upon petition receipt, while new H-1B cap petitions are tied to the April lottery and an October 1 start date. OPT extensions and TN approvals move faster. Raise sponsorship requirements during the offer stage so DigitalOcean's legal team can begin USCIS or DOL filings without delays that push back your start date.
