ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and for making sure the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. McDonald’s Corporation or McDonald’s USA, LLC will not receive a copy of any application you submit for this job posting and will have no control over whether you receive an interview and/or are ultimately hired, does not control and is not responsible for the employment policies and practices of independent franchisees, and does not employ independent franchisees’ employees. If you are hired for this job posting, the independent franchisee, and not McDonald’s Corporation or McDonald’s USA, LLC, will be your employer.

Frame your PM credentials around enterprise scale
McDonald's corporate program management roles prioritize experience with large, cross-functional initiatives. Tailor your resume to highlight programs spanning multiple business units, vendor relationships, or technology rollouts rather than team-level project work.
Target McDonald's Global Technology and Supply Chain teams
Project Program Manager openings at McDonald's are concentrated in technology transformation and restaurant operations. Filtering by these divisions when applying increases your odds of landing in a team with an active sponsorship pipeline for this function.
Align your OPT start date with McDonald's hiring cycles
McDonald's corporate hiring ramps up in Q1 and Q3. If you're on F-1 OPT, time your application to land an offer before your first 90 days of unemployment accumulate, preserving your buffer for onboarding and any STEM extension paperwork.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the final interview round
McDonald's runs multi-stage interviews for program management roles. Raise your H-1B or TN sponsorship requirement directly with the recruiter after the first round, not at the offer stage, so legal review can begin in parallel with hiring decisions.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Project Program Manager roles at McDonald's
Searching broadly across job boards makes it hard to filter for sponsorship-willing employers. Migrate Mate lets you browse verified Project Program Manager openings at McDonald's filtered by visa type, so you apply only where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for PERM documentation requirements early
If McDonald's pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for you, DOL's PERM process requires detailed documentation of your role's minimum requirements and a formal recruitment test. Gather degree transcripts, prior employment verification letters, and a clear job description before this process begins.

Find Project Program Manager at McDonald's JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does McDonald's sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, McDonald's sponsors H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles, primarily within its corporate technology and global operations divisions. Sponsorship is handled through McDonald's internal legal team. Because H-1B selection depends on the annual lottery, candidates should confirm sponsorship intent with the recruiter early and ensure their petition is filed during the April registration window.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at McDonald's?
Applications go through McDonald's careers portal at careers.mcdonalds.com, where openings are listed by department and location. Filtering by corporate functions like Global Technology or Restaurant Development surfaces the roles most likely to involve visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate also aggregates McDonald's Project Program Manager openings filtered by visa type, which simplifies the search if you need confirmed sponsorship.
Which visa types does McDonald's use for Project Program Manager roles?
McDonald's sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Project Program Manager positions, along with EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering classifications. The right visa depends on your citizenship, degree field, and how the role is defined in the job description.
What qualifications does McDonald's expect for Project Program Manager roles?
McDonald's typically expects a bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, engineering, or a related field, combined with several years of enterprise program management experience. PMP certification or equivalent is commonly listed. Experience managing cross-functional initiatives in large corporate or franchise environments carries particular weight, since McDonald's program management involves coordinating across global markets and internal stakeholders.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at McDonald's?
Timelines depend on the visa type. H-1B sponsorship follows USCIS's fixed annual calendar, with registration in March and employment starting October 1 at the earliest. TN visa processing is faster, often completed at the port of entry for Canadians or through consular processing for Mexican nationals. PERM-based Green Card filings through DOL typically take one to two years before reaching the I-140 stage.
