Target quantitative and analytical roles
Meketa's core work involves portfolio analysis, asset allocation, and investment research for institutional clients. Roles requiring specialized financial modeling or quantitative skills are most likely to meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B sponsorship at investment consulting firms.
Align your degree with the specific role
H-1B approval at firms like Meketa depends on a direct connection between your academic background and the position. Finance, economics, mathematics, or statistics degrees tend to support sponsorship applications for the investment and analytical roles this firm typically hires.
Understand how OPT fits into the timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, Meketa has shown willingness to work with candidates in that status. Starting in an OPT role gives you time to demonstrate value before the firm commits to H-1B sponsorship, which follows a defined annual application cycle.
Research open roles before reaching out
Investment consulting firms hire selectively and on specific timelines. Browse Meketa's open positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history rather than guessing from job descriptions alone.
Prepare for a rigorous investment-focused interview process
Meketa advises large pension funds and endowments, so expect technical interviews covering asset classes, manager evaluation, and portfolio construction. Demonstrating deep institutional investment knowledge signals you can contribute immediately, which strengthens the case for sponsorship.
Apply early relative to the H-1B cap season
H-1B petitions are filed in March for an October start date. At investment consulting firms with selective hiring like Meketa, getting an offer well before the January-to-February preparation window is essential to avoid missing the cap filing deadline entirely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Meketa Investment Group sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Meketa Investment Group sponsors H-1B visas. The firm has an established track record of supporting foreign nationals in specialized investment and analytical roles. Sponsorship is generally tied to positions requiring a specific academic background in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field, consistent with the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
Which visa types does Meketa Investment Group sponsor?
Meketa Investment Group sponsors H-1B visas and supports candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT, making it accessible to recent graduates from U.S. universities. The firm also sponsors TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. Green Card sponsorship has not been a consistent part of their recent filing history.
Which departments or roles at Meketa Investment Group are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Meketa is most closely associated with investment research, portfolio analysis, and client advisory functions. Given the firm's focus on institutional investment consulting and outsourced CIO services, roles requiring specialized financial expertise, quantitative skills, or economic analysis are the most natural fit for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility.
What is the typical application timeline for a sponsored role at Meketa Investment Group?
For H-1B sponsorship, the practical timeline starts with securing an offer well before the annual March filing window. Candidates on F-1 OPT can begin working sooner, with H-1B sponsorship initiated during that period. USCIS processing after filing typically runs several months, with an October 1 employment start date for cap-subject petitions.
How do I find and apply for visa-sponsored roles at Meketa Investment Group?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find roles at Meketa Investment Group that come with confirmed visa sponsorship history. Rather than relying on job descriptions that rarely mention sponsorship directly, Migrate Mate lets you filter by verified sponsor status, visa type, and industry, so you can apply to Meketa openings with confidence.
