Align Your Credentials to Colorado Teaching Standards
MSU Denver K-12 Education roles often require or prefer candidates whose credentials align with Colorado Department of Education licensure frameworks. Review the state's educator preparation standards before applying so your resume reflects the specific competencies the hiring committee expects.
Request Employer Sponsorship Confirmation Before Interviewing
Not every open K-12 Education posting at MSU Denver will explicitly state visa sponsorship availability. Contact HR directly during the screening stage to confirm the role is approved for H-1B or other sponsorship before investing time in the full interview process.
Prepare Your Foreign Degree for Equivalency Review
MSU Denver will typically require a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency if your education degree was earned outside the U.S. Request an official course-by-course evaluation early, since evaluation turnaround can delay your offer timeline by several weeks.
Factor in the LCA Filing Step for H-1B Sponsorship
Before USCIS can approve your H-1B petition, MSU Denver must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying your offered wage meets prevailing levels for education roles in Denver. Build at least 30 days into your start date planning to account for LCA certification.
Browse MSU Denver K-12 Openings Through Migrate Mate
Filtering education roles by sponsorship history saves significant research time. Use Migrate Mate to identify current K-12 Education openings at MSU Denver that are likely to support visa sponsorship, so you can prioritize applications accordingly.
Use OPT or CPT Strategically if You Hold an F-1 Visa
If you're completing an education-related graduate program on an F-1 visa, OPT lets you work at MSU Denver for up to 12 months before any H-1B petition is needed. Coordinate your OPT start date with your program end date so there's no gap before your employment begins.

Yes, MSU Denver has a demonstrated history of sponsoring H-1B visas for roles in education-related functions. The university's HR and international services offices manage the petition process. Applications are submitted through MSU Denver's official careers portal. For roles likely to involve visa sponsorship, you can also browse current K-12 Education openings at MSU Denver on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions from employers with active sponsorship histories. Most K-12 Education roles at MSU Denver require at least a bachelor's degree in education or a closely related field, with many positions preferring a master's degree or active Colorado teaching licensure. How do I plan my timeline for visa sponsorship at Metropolitan State University of Denver?
