Align your credentials to project finance
Michael Baker International's banking roles support infrastructure and government contracts, so frame your credentials around capital planning, cost modeling, or public-sector finance. Highlight any experience with project-based billing structures before you apply.
Target infrastructure-adjacent finance openings specifically
Generalist banking roles rarely generate sponsorship. Focus on openings tied to infrastructure project delivery, contract finance, or government program budgeting, where the specialty occupation connection to your degree field is clearest and H-1B approval is more defensible.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Banker roles by visa type
Consulting firms post broadly, so filtering by sponsorship history saves time. Migrate Mate lets you browse current Banker openings at Michael Baker International filtered by the visa categories they actively support, so you're only pursuing roles with a realistic path.
Request the LCA before accepting an offer
Before you sign, ask HR to confirm the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL for your specific role and location. The LCA locks in the prevailing wage and worksite, and discrepancies discovered after filing cause costly delays.
Plan around PERM if you want long-term status
Consulting firms like Michael Baker International often pursue EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for retained finance staff. Ask during the offer negotiation whether the company initiates PERM sponsorship and at what point in tenure that process typically begins.

Find Banker at Michael Baker International JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Michael Baker International sponsor H-1B visas for Bankers?
Yes. Michael Baker International has a documented history of H-1B sponsorship across its professional services workforce, including finance-related roles. Banker positions tied to infrastructure project finance or government contract management are strong candidates for sponsorship because they meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires, typically a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as finance, accounting, or economics.
How do I apply for Banker jobs at Michael Baker International?
Apply through Michael Baker International's careers portal, where roles are listed by department and location. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect project-based finance experience relevant to infrastructure or government consulting. If you need visa sponsorship, state your visa status clearly in your application or initial recruiter conversation so HR can assess sponsorship feasibility before your candidacy advances.
Which visa types does Michael Baker International commonly use for Banker roles?
Michael Baker International sponsors across several visa categories for professional roles, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, the company has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree field, and career stage. You can browse open roles filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate.
What qualifications does Michael Baker International expect for Banker roles?
Banker roles at Michael Baker International typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field. Candidates with experience in infrastructure finance, government contract management, or cost control within a consulting environment are prioritized. An MBA or CFA credential strengthens your profile, particularly for roles involving capital planning, budget oversight, or financial reporting on large engineering programs.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Banker role at Michael Baker International?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B petitions filed under the standard process take three to six months; USCIS premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border in a single day. F-1 OPT is employer-activated through E-Verify and can begin on your authorized start date. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year process and typically starts only after you've established tenure with the company.
