Align your experience to retail vendor ops
Account Operations Manager roles at Michaels typically involve purchase order management, supplier coordination, and cross-departmental workflow. Tailor your resume to show measurable impact in those areas specifically, not just general operations or account management experience.
Verify Michaels uses E-Verify before applying
Michaels Stores participates in E-Verify, which is required for employers sponsoring H-1B and other work visas. Confirming this upfront tells you the HR team already has infrastructure in place to process your work authorization without starting from scratch.
Target corporate and Irving headquarters postings
Account Operations Manager positions at Michaels are typically corporate roles based out of Irving, Texas. Filtering your search to headquarters-level postings increases your odds of landing a role with a structured HR team experienced in visa petition filings.
Request sponsorship confirmation before the offer stage
Retail employers sometimes treat sponsorship as case-by-case even when they have a track record of filing. Ask your recruiter directly whether this specific role and team have been approved for H-1B sponsorship before investing time in later interview rounds.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Account Operations Manager roles
Searching broadly misses roles that close fast. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Account Operations Manager positions at Michaels Stores that are flagged for visa sponsorship, so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is already part of the hiring plan.
Build your case for specialty occupation classification
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations needing at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For an Account Operations Manager role, tie your degree directly to supply chain, business operations, or retail management to strengthen the I-129 petition narrative.

Find Account Operations Manager at Michaels Stores JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Michaels Stores sponsor H-1B visas for Account Operations Managers?
Yes, Michaels Stores has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for corporate operations and management roles. Account Operations Manager positions, which typically sit within the corporate headquarters structure, fall into the category of roles that have received sponsorship. That said, sponsorship decisions are made at the role and team level, so confirming directly with the recruiter early in the process is the right move.
How do I apply for Account Operations Manager jobs at Michaels Stores?
You can search and apply through Michaels Stores' careers portal, filtering for corporate or operations roles. For a more targeted approach, Migrate Mate aggregates open Account Operations Manager positions at Michaels that are flagged for visa sponsorship, letting you prioritize applications where sponsorship is part of the hiring plan rather than an afterthought.
Which visa types does Michaels Stores commonly use for Account Operations Manager roles?
H-1B is the most common path for Account Operations Manager roles at Michaels, suitable for candidates with a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. F-1 OPT and CPT are options for current students or recent graduates in their post-completion work authorization period. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or management occupations. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is possible after an initial work visa period.
What qualifications does Michaels Stores expect for Account Operations Manager roles?
Michaels typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations management, or a related field. Relevant experience in vendor coordination, purchase order management, or retail operations is expected. For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, so your degree should align directly with the job's core functions, not just general business administration.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship at Michaels Stores?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with USCIS opening registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer from Michaels outside that window, you may need to bridge using OPT, CPT, or a cap-exempt status. Building in at least six months of lead time before your current authorization expires gives both you and the employer enough runway to file without pressure.
