Verify Your Credentials Meet Nebraska Licensing Requirements
Before applying, confirm your clinical credentials are recognized by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. International healthcare graduates often need credential evaluation through bodies like CGFNS, and delays here can stall your start date even after an offer is made.
Target Roles With Consistent Sponsorship History
Nebraska Methodist's sponsorship activity concentrates in patient-facing clinical roles rather than general administrative positions. Focus your applications on nursing, therapy, and diagnostics openings where the employer has an established pipeline for international hires and understands the filing requirements.
Browse Open Healthcare Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Nebraska Methodist Health System's open healthcare positions by visa type before you apply. Targeting roles already flagged for sponsorship saves time and ensures you're not advancing through a process with an employer unprepared for H-1B or TN filings.
Ask Recruiters About the LCA Filing Timeline Early
Nebraska Methodist must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Raise this in your first recruiter conversation so HR can align the LCA certification timeline with your intended start date and avoid gaps in authorization.
Align Your OPT or TN Status With Onboarding Dates
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT or entering on TN status, your employment authorization must be active before your first day. Healthcare employers run E-Verify, so even a short authorization gap will flag during onboarding and delay your start regardless of the offer being confirmed.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Justification for Your Role
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for healthcare roles that don't have a uniform degree requirement. Work with your employer's immigration counsel to document that your specific position, such as a clinical coordinator or specialized therapist, requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field.

Find Healthcare at Nebraska Methodist Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nebraska Methodist Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Nebraska Methodist Health System sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying healthcare roles. Sponsorship is most consistently available for clinical positions where the role meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the job requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher. Administrative or generalist roles are less likely to qualify, so targeting clinical openings gives you the strongest chance of sponsorship.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Nebraska Methodist Health System?
You can search and apply for open healthcare positions directly through Nebraska Methodist's careers portal. For international applicants, the most efficient approach is to use Migrate Mate to filter roles by visa type before applying, so you're targeting openings where sponsorship is already confirmed. From there, apply through the official portal and flag your visa situation early in the recruiter screening call.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare roles at Nebraska Methodist Health System?
Nebraska Methodist Health System sponsors H-1B, J-1, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for healthcare roles. H-1B is the most common path for long-term employment in clinical specialties. J-1 is frequently used for medical training and residency-adjacent roles. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations such as nurses, medical technologists, and therapists.
What qualifications are expected for Healthcare roles at Nebraska Methodist Health System?
Requirements vary by role, but most clinical positions require licensure in Nebraska alongside a relevant degree. Registered nurses need an active Nebraska RN license, therapists need state licensure in their discipline, and allied health roles typically require specialty certifications. International graduates should plan for credential evaluation well before applying, as Nebraska licensure can take several months to process after a foreign degree review.
How do I time my application given H-1B cap and filing deadlines?
The H-1B cap opens for registration each March, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you're on OPT and your selection is confirmed, your employer can file the petition in April for a change of status effective October 1. Discuss your timeline with Nebraska Methodist's HR team at least six months before your current work authorization expires to avoid a gap in employment eligibility.
