INTRODUCTION
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Portfolio Management (PM) Data Analytics team is the analytics engine behind Portfolio Management - owning the tools and reporting infrastructure that Netflix planners and strategists rely on to make decisions at both site and portfolio scale.
We are seeking a Manager, PM Strategy & Data Analytics: a senior individual contributor who brings strong depth in space planning and portfolio management to advance the team's analytical capabilities. This person will report to the Senior Manager of Portfolio Management Data Analytics. They will be a PM strategic partner at all levels: from PM Director to regional PM planners and the Netflix Design team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate has:
- Done the work, from managing space at the site level to shaping the metrics and tools that inform enterprise-wide real estate decisions.
- Will bring deep experience on in-house corporate real estate or space planning teams.
- Bring clarity to complex problems, combining diverse datasets and understanding the balance between hard numbers and qualitative inputs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
-
Space Strategy & Occupancy Intelligence
-
Serve as the PM Data Analytics subject matter expert on space programming, occupancy planning, and portfolio metrics. Serve as a strategic partner for Portfolio Management Managers and Space & Occupancy teams globally.
- Lead the development of long-term headcount forecasting in partnership with Finance, including analysis of site impacts across all regions.
- Own the development and ongoing evolution of core space planning tools used by planners across regions: such as: Program Calculator, Space Type Dictionary, Site Planning Guidelines, or Workplace Insights Survey.
-
Translate site-level occupancy data into portfolio-scale insights: connecting qualitative and quantitative data points into a coherent narrative to inform Netflix Portfolio Management.
-
Analytics, Reporting & Data Infrastructure
-
Own and evolve core reporting cadences: weekly and monthly utilization attendance and utilization reports and quarterly headcount forecast refreshes.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools in Looker, Tableau and other platforms.
- Contribute to Portfolio Insights sessions and executive-level documentation.
- Support the development and maintenance of the PM microsite and reference toolkit, ensuring planners globally have access to current resources.
-
Collaborate with the PM Data & Systems Team to ensure the health, accuracy, and scalability of Portfolio Management's analytics infrastructure: including CAFM systems (Serraview/Eptura), sensor platforms (Freespace), and integrated data pipelines.
-
AI-Powered Tools & Innovation
-
Familiarity with leveraging AI tools for data analytics initiatives.
- Engage in the development and iteration of AI-powered tools within PM workflows: attendance forecasting, floor plan analysis, scenario planning, and reporting automation.
- Stay current on emerging AI capabilities and proactively identify opportunities to apply them.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in space planning, occupancy strategy, or workplace analytics.
- Demonstrated experience from tactical, site-level work to global portfolio responsibilities.
- Proven experience on an in-house corporate real estate team or similar. You've owned programs, tools, and data end-to-end, not just delivered recommendations.
- Deep fluency in space programming, occupancy metrics, and real estate strategy. You can read a floor plan, interpret sensor data, and translate both into a portfolio narrative.
- Proven experience building and maintaining tools using AI, with strong AI proficiency across relevant use cases: floor plan analysis, attendance forecasting, scenario planning, and reporting automation.
- Expertise in Looker and Tableau, with a track record of building interactive, insight-driven dashboards.
- Experience with CAFM systems, occupancy sensor and meeting room booking technology and data.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets for advanced data analysis.
- Based in Los Angeles, CA, Los Gatos, CA or New York, NY office, with the ability to work in-office 3 days per week.

- Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Space Planning, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related fields or equivalent experience.

Align your portfolio to Netflix's content data stack
Netflix's Data Contributor roles often involve metadata tagging, content taxonomy, and localization quality workflows. Before applying, build or reframe your portfolio around structured data projects, content classification systems, or multilingual annotation work that maps directly to streaming platform needs.
Verify your visa type against Netflix's sponsored categories
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and EB-2/EB-3. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early because Data Contributor roles at tech companies often qualify, giving you up to three years of authorized work before an H-1B petition is needed.
Target Netflix's content operations hiring cycles strategically
Netflix tends to ramp Data Contributor hiring ahead of major content release windows. Submitting applications in Q4 and Q1 positions you for roles that need to be filled before H-1B cap season, giving your employer more runway to file a petition by the April 1 deadline.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation before interviewing
If your bachelor's degree is from outside the United States, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before your first interview. Netflix's H-1B petitions require USCIS to confirm your degree meets specialty occupation standards, and having this ready prevents delays after an offer is extended.
Clarify sponsorship intent during the offer stage not after
Once Netflix extends an offer, ask the recruiter directly which visa category they intend to file and what their internal immigration counsel timeline looks like. For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the employer must register you in the USCIS lottery by March, so confirming this before you sign prevents missed filing windows.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Data Contributor roles at Netflix
Netflix posts Data Contributor openings across multiple internal teams, and roles can close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter Netflix jobs by visa sponsorship type so you're only applying to positions where your specific visa category is confirmed, not assumed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Data Contributors?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Data Contributor roles. Because the H-1B is a cap-subject visa, Netflix must submit your registration through the USCIS lottery in March for an October 1 start date. If you're currently on F-1 OPT or another work-authorized status, you can start while the petition is pending, but the timing needs to be coordinated with Netflix's immigration counsel well before the lottery opens.
How do I apply for Data Contributor jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers portal at jobs.netflix.com. Data Contributor roles are often listed under Content Operations or Localization. Tailor your resume to highlight structured data work, content metadata, or annotation experience. You can also browse verified sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Netflix listings by visa category so you know upfront whether your status is supported before applying.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly use for Data Contributor roles?
Netflix uses several visa categories for Data Contributors depending on your nationality and career stage. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, with STEM OPT extension available for qualifying roles. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, while Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status. For longer-term sponsorship, Netflix files H-1B petitions and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for permanent residency.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Data Contributor roles?
Netflix typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a field related to information science, linguistics, media studies, or a technical discipline, combined with hands-on experience in metadata, content tagging, or data quality workflows. Proficiency with content management systems or annotation tools is frequently listed. For H-1B sponsorship, your degree must align with the specialty occupation standard that USCIS applies to the specific role, so a direct field match matters.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if Netflix offers me a Data Contributor role?
The timeline depends on your visa category. An E-3 or TN can be obtained in weeks through consular processing or at a port of entry. An H-1B petition filed under premium processing gets a USCIS decision within 15 business days, though cap-subject H-1Bs require winning the March lottery first, with employment starting October 1. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to several years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
