At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Team
The Contingent Compensation team manages success-based compensation to our talent and other rightsholders. This includes all varieties of royalties, profit participations, revenue sharing, bonuses and backend buyouts related to content distribution and exploitation of ancillary rights like consumer products, music and gaming. Our goal is to provide insights and advice to support dealmaking and business decisions, and to provide accurate and timely reporting and payments to participants.
The Role
We are looking for an Analyst to join our team supporting Music Royalties. This role sits at the intersection of financial analysis and royalty operations, supporting on-service music rights administration for CMO/PRO partners and ancillary lines of business (licensing, soundtracks, experiences, and other off-service exploitation).
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of music distribution and royalties (preferably within the context of a Film/TV studio), related contracts, and general financial principles. This role will own the day-to-day execution of royalty operations from setting up contract terms in royalty systems to producing accurate royalty statements and processing payments. You'll work closely with a global set of stakeholders, supporting the Legal, Accounting, and Music/Content teams to ensure rightsholders are paid accurately and in line with Netflix's contractual obligations.
This role will require data analysis and financial modeling related to music royalties, the ability to maintain business relationships (internal and external), and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial details in a clear, concise manner.
Responsibilities
- Support Netflix music publishing and record royalty workflows. Analyze legal agreements and prepare royalty statements and payments based on contractual terms.
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing the financial impact of music royalties on Netflix’s P&L and balance sheet, including financial modeling, accrual calculations, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners. Respond to royalty-related inquiries from rightsholders, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in innovation efforts, including automation & workflow/system development conversations. Provide feedback, research industry best practices, and implement impactful improvements to your area that demonstrate the capabilities of your team.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience working in music royalties, preferably at a CMO, music publisher, record label or Film/TV Studio.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with royalty or rights management systems is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with large, complex datasets. SQL is a plus.
- Experience reading and interpreting legal agreements.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues and problem-solve effectively.
- Thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and demonstrate strong judgment in the face of ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong drive to learn and grow in the role.

Tips for Finding Business Analyst Jobs at Netflix
Frame your portfolio around data storytelling
Netflix values analysts who move from raw data to business narrative. Before applying, restructure your portfolio to show how your analysis changed a product or revenue decision, not just what queries you ran or dashboards you built.
Target teams where analytics drives strategy
Netflix Business Analyst roles cluster around product growth, content performance, and subscriber retention. Research which Netflix org posted the role and tailor your application to that team's publicly known priorities, not the generic job description.
Verify your OPT start date against the interview timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, Netflix's hiring cycle can run eight to twelve weeks. Map your OPT expiration against that timeline now. If there's a risk of a gap, ask your DSO about a STEM OPT extension early so it doesn't stall your onboarding.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before your recruiter screen
If you're Australian, the E-3 bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely and can be filed in time for a standard start date. Know your status going in so you can mention it proactively if the recruiter raises sponsorship as a concern.
Understand what the LCA filing means for your offer timing
Before Netflix can file your H-1B petition with USCIS, they must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL. That step alone takes one to two weeks and must happen before the I-129 is submitted, so factor it into your expected start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles
Netflix posts Business Analyst roles across multiple job boards, but not all listings confirm visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to browse only the Netflix roles verified for sponsorship, so you spend your time on applications that can actually proceed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Business Analysts?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Business Analyst roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, your petition must be submitted in April for an October 1 start date. Netflix works with immigration counsel to handle the I-129 filing and LCA certification through DOL, but you'll want to confirm sponsorship intent with your recruiter before the registration window opens each March.
How do I apply for Business Analyst jobs at Netflix?
Apply directly through Netflix's careers site or find verified openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles that confirm visa sponsorship. Tailor your resume to show quantitative impact and business outcomes, since Netflix's recruiting process rewards analysts who can demonstrate how data shaped decisions. Expect a multi-round interview that includes a case study or take-home analytical exercise alongside behavioral interviews.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly use for Business Analyst roles?
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT for Business Analyst positions, along with Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term sponsorship. Australian nationals typically use the E-3 visa, which avoids the H-1B lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. F-1 students on STEM OPT can begin work before any lottery outcome is known.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Business Analyst roles?
Netflix typically looks for analysts with a degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, computer science, or a related discipline, plus hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization tools. Beyond technical skills, the company places weight on communication and the ability to frame data-driven recommendations for non-technical stakeholders. Prior experience in a fast-moving tech or media environment strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after a Netflix offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and TN approvals can come through in a matter of weeks once the offer is formalized. H-1B sponsorship requires DOL LCA certification followed by a USCIS petition, and if you need premium processing, USCIS targets a 15-business-day adjudication window. For new H-1B beneficiaries subject to the cap, the earliest possible start date is October 1 following the April lottery.
