At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next. Recently, we have expanded our entertainment offering with Live programming, including the NFL Christmas Day Games, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Fight, and the weekly WWE series, launched in January of 2025. We are looking for an experienced Technical Launch Manager to help drive the success of these live shows.
The Role
As Technical Launch Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end live video pipeline, from the point of acquisition with our broadcast production partners to the hundreds of millions of global end-user devices. In partnership with dozens of teams and hundreds of cross-functional partners, you will plan and execute the critical path for the Live feeds and supporting infrastructure for Netflix's largest shows.
Before the Event: You will ensure that all partners are aligned on team responsibilities and show-specific features (broadcast technology, localization and accessibility requirements, social and marking needs, member-facing features), and follow up on execution. You will lead readiness reviews, assess risks, and help drive them to resolution. You will schedule, coordinate, and document pre-event testing and validation. You will plan and lead all transmission testing and rehearsals, and coordinate on-call rotations and staffing requirements.
During the Event: As a subject matter expert on Netflix's live streaming operations, you will partner with the Live Command Center Operations team to monitor the observability and health metrics of all live events. Your core responsibility is to serve as the lead for incident response: you will declare and manage live incidents, and coordinate the necessary communication and mitigation efforts across internal teams, third-party partners, and executive leadership. This role requires a hands-on approach to operational tasks, including end-user device testing and verifying critical show elements such as SCTE marker insertion, closed captions, and global language support.
After the event: You will compile operations summaries, coordinate retrospectives, and follow up on reported incidents to ensure readiness ahead of the next event.
About You
Experience:
You have experience in planning, leading, and operating live shows in the streaming domain. NOC or Broadcast Master Control experience is a big plus. You have directly supported 24x7 Linear Live Streaming (FAST, OTT, MVPD). You have worked closely with engineers (as a project manager, technical program manager, or operations engineer, etc). You have handled incidents in the context of live streaming.
Domain Knowledge:
You are knowledgeable about live-streaming systems. You have a good understanding of broadcast technology, encoding, cloud services, and media delivery via CDNs.
Essentials:
You are a great communicator and very organized. You collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm and focused amidst ambiguity. You can execute the details while also being motivated to drive the team's strategic direction. You are excited about delivering live shows embedded in the Netflix culture.

Tailor Your Resume to Netflix's Infrastructure Scale
Netflix operates data centers and production facilities at global scale. Highlight experience with high-availability systems, preventive maintenance programs, or automated equipment rather than general repair work. Specificity about the environments you've maintained signals readiness for their operational demands.
Confirm Your Visa Type Before Applying
Netflix sponsors multiple visa categories for technical roles, but not every category applies to every situation. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date before submitting. If your cap-gap window is approaching, be upfront with the recruiter so timelines can be planned accurately.
Request Written Sponsorship Confirmation Early
During the offer stage, ask your recruiter to confirm which visa category Netflix intends to file and whether they use premium processing for new hires. For H-1B, the employer-filed petition must reach USCIS before your authorized work period ends.
Build Credentials That Survive Specialty Occupation Scrutiny
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for technician roles closely. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field strengthens the specialty occupation argument significantly. Relevant certifications, like those from SMRP or NIMS, provide additional supporting evidence in the petition.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Netflix Mechanical Technician Openings
Netflix posts Mechanical Technician roles across multiple locations and facility types. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Netflix positions that align with your visa type, so you're only applying where sponsorship is already confirmed and your status is eligible.
Understand the PERM Timeline if a Green Card Path Matters
If you're targeting long-term status, ask during negotiations whether Netflix initiates PERM labor certification for Mechanical Technicians. The DOL PERM process typically runs six months to over a year before the immigrant petition stage even begins, so starting early matters.

Find Mechanical Technician at Netflix JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Technicians?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Technician roles. Because the H-1B requires demonstrating specialty occupation status, your petition will be stronger with a degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a closely related field. Netflix's legal team works through the full H-1B process, including Labor Condition Application filing with the DOL, on behalf of sponsored employees.
How do I apply for Mechanical Technician jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers portal. Search for Mechanical Technician or related titles like Facilities Technician or Equipment Technician. Tailor your application to the specific facility type listed, whether that's a data center, production studio, or distribution hub, since the technical requirements vary. Migrate Mate also lists Netflix Mechanical Technician openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which simplifies identifying roles that fit your status.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly use for Mechanical Technician roles?
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2/EB-3 Green Card pathways for technical positions. For Mechanical Technicians, H-1B and TN are most commonly used for ongoing employment. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3, which has no lottery and a dedicated annual allocation. F-1 OPT is used for recent graduates in the earlier stages of their careers.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Mechanical Technician positions?
Netflix typically looks for hands-on experience with HVAC systems, power distribution, mechanical equipment maintenance, or data center infrastructure, depending on the facility. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field strengthens both your application and any H-1B petition. Certifications in facilities management or electromechanical systems, such as those from SMRP or NIMS, are valued and support specialty occupation arguments with USCIS.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Netflix Mechanical Technician role?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B standard processing runs three to five months after the April lottery; premium processing through USCIS reduces adjudication to 15 business days. E-3 consular processing in Australia typically takes two to four weeks. TN status for Canadian or Mexican nationals can be obtained at a port of entry. Plan for your OPT or current status expiry when timing your application and offer acceptance.
