Content & Business Products (CBP) Overview
The Content & Business Products (CBP) teams are fundamental to Netflix's mission to entertain the world. This organization is responsible for building the products and services that optimize and automate the entire content creation lifecycle, from initial concept and financial planning to global launch and promotion. CBP is the engine behind "pitch to play," enabling our teams to create, manage, and distribute content at scale. In addition, we build and maintain critical enterprise products that ensure efficient operations across key internal departments, including Finance, Talent, and Customer Support.
Our Team: Studio Production Engineering
Studio Production Engineering builds and operates the technology that powers Netflix’s content journey from pitch to post. Our team delivers robust infrastructure, media management, and workflow solutions for everything from evaluating pitches and managing deals to orchestrating petabytes of production media, scheduling releases, and supporting post-production processes. We enable data-informed decision-making for content executives, support global studio operations, and pioneer new workflows with Generative AI—all while ensuring seamless integration across Netflix and its subsidiaries.
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager with a background in studio or media tech infrastructure and/or Generative AI/ML platforms to drive high-impact, cross-functional programs. This role requires strong collaboration with product, engineering, data science, and senior leadership to execute complex, strategic technology programs across the studio.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple complex, cross-functional technical programs focused on foundational studio infrastructure, including hardware provisioning (workstations, render nodes), cloud tenant setup (compute, storage, network), and large-scale data migration initiatives.
- Provide deep domain expertise to form technical strategies for migrating and modernizing studio production environments, including large datasets across various storage and cloud solutions.
- Drive and manage the technical integration of third-party creative and infrastructure software onto Netflix's corporate platforms.
- Scope and lead the execution of Generative AI/ML initiatives, working with engineering and data science partners to identify high-value use cases and productionize new AI platform capabilities, such as access to advanced LLM/ APIs.
- Drive engagement with cross-functional partners, work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with measurable milestones, effectively optimize scope and schedule, manage cross-functional dependencies, and proactively manage risks, particularly around Day 1 readiness for complex tech integrations.
- Craft clear communication of progress toward goals, reporting status to stakeholders and leadership, translating complex technical challenges into clear business implications.
Requirements
- 7+ years of technical program management experience.
- Must have domain experience in Studio Technology Infrastructure, Media Production Pipelines, or Generative AI/Machine Learning Platform delivery.
- Preference for candidates who have managed programs involving large-scale data migration, cloud infrastructure (AWS, CoreWeave, GCP), and high-performance computing/rendering environments.
- Proven experience driving large-scale software and infrastructure projects, managing the definition of technical strategies, and building long-term scalable solutions.
- Deep understanding and point of view on the application of Generative AI/ML to creative and production workflows.
- Highly skilled, experienced, and enjoys orchestrating multiple programs with many moving parts and creating partnerships with cross-functional teams.
- Able to identify gaps in solutions, debate technical approaches and weigh in on product vs. technology tradeoffs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience.
- Self-starter who enjoys tackling 0 to 1 problem spaces and quickly bringing organization and direction.
- Exemplify the Netflix culture by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values.

Frame your PM credentials around technical depth
Netflix's Engineering Program Manager roles require demonstrable experience with large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure programs. Before applying, audit your resume to surface specific technical domains you've owned, not just coordinated, so your application clears the bar.
Research Netflix's LCA filings before outreach
DOL Labor Condition Application disclosures show which roles Netflix has certified for sponsored workers by job title and location. Checking these filings tells you which Engineering Program Manager teams have historically run sponsorship-supported hires.
Target Netflix's known program management tracks directly
Netflix organizes Engineering Program Managers under specific product and infrastructure pillars. Identifying which pillar aligns with your domain, such as streaming infrastructure or developer productivity, and applying through that track signals genuine functional fit beyond a generic application.
Clarify your visa timeline early in the recruiter screen
Netflix's recruiting pace can move quickly through its interview loops. Flag your current status, whether F-1 OPT, H-1B transfer eligibility, or TN, in the first recruiter conversation so the team can align internal timelines with any filing or grace period constraints.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Engineering Program Manager roles at Netflix with active sponsorship
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type, so you can identify Netflix Engineering Program Manager postings where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed. This saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable.
Understand how H-1B transfers work if you're already sponsored
If you're on an H-1B with another employer, Netflix can file a transfer petition so you can start working on the receipt notice under portability rules. You don't need to wait for USCIS approval before your first day, which removes a common delay in the offer-to-start timeline.

Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Program Managers?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Program Manager roles. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for technical program management positions, including both new caps and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you're in an active H-1B transfer situation, you can begin working on the receipt notice rather than waiting for a full USCIS approval.
How do I apply for Engineering Program Manager jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers portal, where Engineering Program Manager roles are listed by team and product area. Tailoring your application to the specific pillar, whether infrastructure, platform, or product engineering, strengthens your candidacy. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse current Engineering Program Manager openings at Netflix filtered by the visa types you're eligible for, so you target roles where sponsorship is available.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly sponsor for Engineering Program Managers?
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for Engineering Program Manager roles, alongside immigrant pathways including Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and is a strong option given its no-lottery structure. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa depends on your citizenship and current status.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Engineering Program Manager roles?
Netflix's Engineering Program Manager roles typically require a technical background, often a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with experience managing large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs. Familiarity with distributed systems, infrastructure delivery, or platform engineering is valued. For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which Netflix's Engineering PM positions generally satisfy given their degree requirements.
How do I think about timing when targeting a sponsored Engineering Program Manager role at Netflix?
Timing depends heavily on your current visa status. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor in your OPT expiration date and whether a STEM extension applies, since Netflix can file an H-1B cap petition in April for an October 1 start. If you're already on H-1B, a transfer can start on the receipt date. Starting your application process three to four months before any status deadline gives sufficient runway for Netflix's multi-stage interview loop and internal sponsorship approvals.
