Verify your credentials meet Texas licensing requirements
Texas requires RN licensure through the Texas Board of Nursing, and internationally trained nurses often need a credential evaluation through a NACES-approved body before applying. Start this process early since evaluation timelines can delay your application by months.
Target Parkland's high-volume clinical nursing units
Parkland operates a large public hospital system with consistent demand in emergency, labor and delivery, and critical care units. Applying directly to these departments improves your odds since they have the most frequent and recurring nursing vacancies.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by healthcare employer and nursing roles on Migrate Mate to confirm which Parkland positions have active visa sponsorship attached. This saves time by surfacing roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than relying on job postings that omit that detail.
Time your H-1B registration around Parkland's hiring cycle
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. Aligning your Parkland application and offer process to secure a signed position before registration opens gives your employer the lead time needed to sponsor you in that cap season.

Find Nursing at Parkland Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Parkland Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Parkland Health has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. As a large public hospital system, Parkland has the HR infrastructure to manage the H-1B petition process, though sponsorship is typically extended to candidates who have already cleared Texas RN licensure and meet the clinical requirements of the specific unit they're applying to join.
Which visa types does Parkland Health commonly use for Nursing roles?
Parkland Health has sponsored nursing candidates on H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT statuses. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals holding a qualifying nursing credential under USMCA. J-1 is sometimes used for exchange visitor nurses in clinical training contexts. F-1 OPT is an option for nurses who completed a U.S. nursing program and are within their authorized work period.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Parkland Health?
Applications go through Parkland Health's careers portal, where nursing roles are listed by unit and department. Filter for your clinical specialty and apply directly online. You can also browse confirmed sponsorship-eligible nursing roles at Parkland through Migrate Mate, which helps you identify which open positions are attached to active visa sponsorship before you apply.
What qualifications does Parkland Health expect for nursing candidates seeking visa sponsorship?
Parkland expects active Texas RN licensure or eligibility for endorsement, which for internationally trained nurses typically means passing the NCLEX-RN and completing a foreign credential evaluation. Clinical experience in your specialty area is expected, and for competitive units like ICU or labor and delivery, prior acute care experience in a hospital setting carries significant weight in the review process.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship through Parkland Health?
The H-1B cap runs on a fixed federal cycle: USCIS opens registration each March, and approved petitions take effect October 1. You'll need a signed offer from Parkland before registration opens in March. Factor in time for Texas RN licensure, credential evaluation, and any internal HR processing at Parkland, which can take several months before they're ready to file.
