Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for a District Sales Manager role requires demonstrating the position demands a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Document how your business, real estate, or operations management degree directly maps to the responsibilities Public Storage lists in its job postings.
Target districts with high facility density
Public Storage concentrates District Sales Manager hiring in metros where it operates clusters of facilities. Focus your applications on markets like Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta, where open roles are more frequent and hiring managers have more experience processing sponsorship paperwork.
Confirm your visa type during the offer negotiation
Public Storage sponsors multiple visa categories for this role. Before accepting an offer, clarify in writing which visa type they intend to file and whether they use in-house legal counsel or an outside immigration firm, since that affects how quickly the process moves.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open District Sales Manager roles
Not every Public Storage job listing will surface on general job boards with sponsorship details attached. Search Migrate Mate specifically to identify District Sales Manager openings at Public Storage that are tagged as visa-sponsorship eligible and apply directly from there.
Request PERM timeline clarity before your OPT expires
If Public Storage pursues a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process for your role, the DOL typically takes six to eighteen months to certify. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm whether they'll bridge you to H-1B status while PERM is pending before your work authorization lapses.
Prepare a district operations portfolio before your interview
Public Storage evaluates District Sales Managers on measurable outcomes across multiple locations. Compile data showing revenue growth, occupancy rate improvements, or team performance metrics from prior multi-site roles. Strong operational evidence accelerates internal approvals when HR routes your file through sponsorship review.

Does Public Storage sponsor H-1B visas for District Sales Managers?
Yes, Public Storage sponsors H-1B visas for District Sales Manager roles. To qualify, the position must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning it requires a specific bachelor's degree in a relevant field like business administration, real estate, or operations management. Your employer will file Form I-129 with USCIS, and the role must be tied to a specific worksite district for the Labor Condition Application.
How do I apply for District Sales Manager jobs at Public Storage?
Apply through Public Storage's careers page or use Migrate Mate to find open District Sales Manager listings that are flagged for visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your resume to highlight multi-site management experience, as Public Storage structures this role around overseeing several storage facilities within a defined geographic area. Reach out to the hiring team early to confirm sponsorship availability before investing significant time in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for District Sales Manager roles at Public Storage?
Public Storage sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT work authorization for this role, and has also pursued EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. F-1 students completing degrees in relevant fields can begin on OPT, which provides up to 12 months of work authorization, with STEM OPT extensions available for qualifying programs.
What qualifications does Public Storage expect for a District Sales Manager?
Public Storage typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, real estate, marketing, or a related field, combined with several years of multi-unit or district-level management experience. Familiarity with property management operations, occupancy metrics, and team leadership across physical locations carries significant weight. Prior experience in self-storage, retail, or commercial real estate is a strong differentiator when competing for open districts.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for this role?
For H-1B, your employer files Form I-129 after the April lottery selection, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. Standard USCIS processing runs three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that to fifteen business days. If Public Storage pursues a Green Card through PERM, expect an additional six to eighteen months for DOL labor certification before the immigrant petition stage begins.
