Align your credentials with U.S. licensure requirements
Social Work roles at RHA often require a state-issued LCSW or LMSW. Before applying, verify your degree meets the Council on Social Work Education standards, since foreign credentials typically need a formal equivalency evaluation to satisfy state licensing boards.
Target RHA's behavioral health and IDD programs
RHA concentrates hiring in intellectual and developmental disability services and behavioral health programs. Framing your experience around direct support, case management, or community-based mental health aligns your application with the specific Social Work functions they staff most consistently.
Ask about sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Confirm whether RHA will cover PERM filing, attorney fees, and the I-140 petition, or only partial costs. Green Card sponsorship involves multi-year timelines, so clarifying the employer's full commitment at the offer stage prevents surprises after you've started.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Social Work roles at RHA
RHA posts Social Work openings across multiple states with varying licensure requirements. Migrate Mate surfaces these roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify which specific positions and locations are actively hiring sponsored candidates.
Plan your timeline around PERM and priority dates
Green Card processing through PERM can take one to three years before your priority date becomes current, depending on your birth country and the visa bulletin. Starting the conversation with RHA's HR team early lets you plan your authorized work period accordingly.

Find Social Work at RHA Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does RHA Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Social Workers?
RHA Health Services has focused its visa sponsorship activity for Social Work roles on permanent residence pathways rather than the H-1B. Social Work is not always classified as a specialty occupation under H-1B criteria, and many states require licensure that complicates cap-subject filings. If you need employer-sponsored work authorization, ask RHA directly whether an H-1B petition is on the table for the specific role you're pursuing.
Which visa types are commonly used for Social Work roles at RHA Health Services?
RHA has sponsored Social Work hires through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, both of which require PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor. EB-2 applies when the role requires a master's degree or higher, while EB-3 covers positions where a bachelor's is the standard requirement. These are employer-initiated pathways, so sponsorship begins after you receive and accept a job offer.
What qualifications and experience does RHA Health Services expect for Social Work roles?
Most Social Work positions at RHA require at least a bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, with clinical roles requiring a master's degree and active state licensure such as an LCSW or LMSW. Experience in behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or community-based case management is a strong differentiator. If your degree is from outside the U.S., you'll need a credential evaluation from a recognized service before applying for state licensure.
How do I apply for Social Work jobs at RHA Health Services?
You can browse current Social Work openings at RHA through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify positions where sponsorship is actively available. When applying directly, tailor your resume to RHA's specific program areas, such as IDD services or behavioral health, and include your licensure status and any credential evaluation documentation upfront to reduce back-and-forth with their recruiting team.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take with RHA Health Services for a Social Work role?
For EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, the timeline begins with PERM labor certification at the DOL, which currently takes several months to over a year. After USCIS approves the I-140 petition, your wait for an available visa number depends on your country of birth and the monthly visa bulletin. Plan for a multi-year process and ensure your current work authorization covers you through the filing period.
