Verify your licensure transfers across state lines
RHA operates in multiple states, so confirm your Mental Health license is valid where the specific role is located. Some states require separate licensure, and USCIS will expect documentation of state-specific authorization when reviewing your petition.
Target roles requiring master's level credentials
Mental Health positions that require a master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology align best with EB-2 eligibility. Roles requiring only a bachelor's degree typically route through EB-3, which carries longer PERM labor certification timelines.
Ask HR directly about PERM sponsorship readiness
During the offer stage, confirm whether RHA has initiated or is prepared to initiate PERM labor certification with DOL. Some employers sponsor reactively rather than proactively, and knowing their timeline before you accept affects your planning significantly.
Build your clinical documentation before applying
Prepare foreign credential evaluations, supervised hours logs, and any NBCC or state board documentation in advance. RHA's clinical hiring process moves faster when you can substantiate your qualifications immediately, not after an offer is extended.
Browse RHA Mental Health openings on Migrate Mate
Search RHA Health Services on Migrate Mate to filter Mental Health roles by sponsorship type. This surfaces active positions where EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is on the table, saving you time spent on openings where sponsorship is unavailable.
Account for priority date backlogs in your planning
EB-3 Green Card timelines vary significantly by your country of birth due to USCIS priority date backlogs. If you were born in a high-demand country, confirm the current priority date from the DOS Visa Bulletin before relying on an employment-based pathway with a long wait.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does RHA Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Mental Healths?
RHA Health Services primarily sponsors Mental Health professionals through employment-based Green Card categories like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than H-1B visas. Mental Health roles often require state licensure and clinical supervision hours that fit the permanent residency pathway better. If H-1B sponsorship is a priority for you, clarify this directly with RHA's HR team during the hiring process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Mental Health roles at RHA Health Services?
Mental Health professionals at RHA most commonly pursue sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories. EB-2 applies if your role requires a master's degree or higher in a clinical mental health field. EB-3 covers positions requiring a bachelor's degree. Both routes require PERM labor certification filed with DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Mental Health roles at RHA Health Services?
RHA typically hires Mental Health professionals with degrees in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field. Many roles require active state licensure, such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, along with documented supervised clinical hours. Community-based and residential care experience is frequently preferred, given RHA's service model supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities alongside behavioral health needs.
How do I apply for Mental Health jobs at RHA Health Services?
Browse current RHA Health Services Mental Health openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship eligibility so you can identify positions where EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is available. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply directly through RHA's careers portal. Prepare your clinical credentials, licensure documentation, and any foreign credential evaluations before submitting so your application is complete from the start.
How long does the sponsorship process typically take for Mental Health professionals at RHA?
The employment-based Green Card process involves multiple stages: PERM labor certification with DOL, which can take 12 to 18 months, followed by USCIS adjudication of the I-140 immigrant petition, and then adjustment of status or consular processing. Total timelines vary significantly based on your country of birth and current USCIS processing volumes. Starting early in your employment at RHA improves your position considerably.
