SUMMARY
This position is located on-site at our corporate office in Warwick, RI. This will be a hybrid position once the training/onboarding period has successfully been completed.
The Applications Analyst, Clinical Systems works independently to provide technical support for Information Technology and systems that are used in support of clinical workflows. The Analyst is a key participant in projects, implementations, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information systems. The Analyst works closely with internal and external stakeholders to use workflow solutions to improve business practices and increase efficiency, safety, and patient care. Provides input regarding vendor-proposed solutions and facilitates improvement and support for their solutions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with all aspects of IT systems including implementation, upgrade, and support to ensure efficiency for users.
- Work with internal and external staff on projects for modifying, maintaining, upgrading, and adding functionality to existing systems via maintenance releases, utilities from vendors, and the usefulness of systems to customers.
- Meet with internal/external stakeholders and vendors to define and resolve system issues, gather requirements, and understand and complete requests.
- Participate in complex multi-disciplinary projects including project planning, stakeholder communication, task completion, and overall implementation.
- Participate in research, analysis, workflow development, coordination with vendors, testing, and debugging to optimize use of systems.
- Consider and include information and cybersecurity in projects, solutions, and processes.
- Execute routine day-to-day tasks for supporting and maintaining information systems.
- Triage issues for and with end users. Determine the nature of problem, identify appropriate resources to resolve the issue, resolve issues where possible, and follow up to be certain that the system is functioning properly.
- Record, track, and document the service desk incident-solving process through to final resolution, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken.
- Take corrective actions independently or by consulting with other staff to provide end user support, particularly for more complex issues; escalate to management where appropriate.
- Communicate and document system needs to vendors for the complex design, development, and/or enhancement of systems.
- Coordinate the testing and installation of new systems and modifications from vendors.
- Participate in the development and testing of new interfaces and/or changes to existing interfaces.
- Assist with monitoring or troubleshooting existing interface issues as needed.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot scripts to execute tasks, provide automation, support workflows, and enable reporting.
- Analyze and document problems with vendor software and generate documentation for submission to vendor; contact outside resources for input into resolving issues and applies corrective action.
- Provide input into the evaluation of vendor proposals to determine their appropriateness and compatibility with existing operational infrastructure.
- Assist end users with installed systems usage; provide individual and group instruction new applications as needed.
- Provide training to new radiologists and clinical end users.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of training and educational materials.
- Perform other duties as required.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Basic understanding and familiarity with HL7 interface standards is a plus.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of internal and external users and vendors.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work on concurrent multidisciplinary projects and complete tasks in a timely manner to meet customer project needs.

- Experience troubleshooting electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH, Athena, Paragon, etc.)
- Experience with InteleRad/Clario is preferred.
Education:
- BS or BA in computer science or equivalent; requisite system and technical experience in a medical-related field.
