Align your degree to materials engineering
Rogers hires electrical engineers to work on specialty polymer and ceramic laminates, not general circuit design. Framing your academic background around dielectric materials, RF substrates, or power electronics makes your profile a stronger match for their PERM and EB-2 filings.
Target roles in advanced connectivity divisions
Rogers' open electrical engineering positions are concentrated in product lines serving aerospace, automotive, and wireless infrastructure. Filtering your applications to those business units increases your odds of landing a role that already has an established sponsorship pathway at the company.
Start OPT applications before your graduation date
F-1 students targeting Rogers should file for OPT through their DSO at least 90 days before graduation. Rogers actively uses CPT and OPT to evaluate engineers before committing to longer-term sponsorship, so starting early protects your work authorization timeline.
Understand how TN fits your situation
Canadian and Mexican engineers can enter on a TN visa without waiting for USCIS approval, which removes the lottery risk that affects H-1B candidates. Rogers sponsors TN visas for electrical engineers, and the documentation process can move quickly once you have a written job offer.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings
Rogers posts electrical engineering roles across multiple divisions and locations. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify which positions align with your authorization status before you apply.
Prepare for PERM recruitment documentation early
If Rogers initiates a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, DOL requires the company to complete a PERM labor certification that documents a formal recruitment effort. Keeping your own records of the application process helps you respond quickly if your employer needs supporting information during filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Rogers sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Rogers' disclosed visa sponsorship history focuses on EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visa rather than H-1B visa. If H-1B sponsorship is a priority for you, raise it directly during the offer stage. Rogers has enough of a sponsorship track record in other categories that immigration discussions are common, and their HR teams are generally familiar with the process.
Which visa types does Rogers commonly use for Electrical Engineer roles?
Rogers sponsors Electrical Engineers through F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employment. The TN and OPT pathways tend to move the fastest, while EB-2 and EB-3 involve PERM labor certification through DOL and carry a longer timeline.
What qualifications does Rogers expect for sponsored Electrical Engineer positions?
Rogers typically looks for electrical engineers with backgrounds in high-frequency materials, power electronics, or RF circuit design, reflecting its core product lines in specialty laminates and substrates. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is the baseline, and experience with materials characterization or product qualification testing strengthens your candidacy for roles that commonly lead to sponsorship.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at Rogers?
You can browse current Electrical Engineer openings at Rogers filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles matched to your authorization status. Once you identify a position, apply directly through Rogers' careers portal. Tailor your application to the specific product division, since Rogers' engineering teams are organized around distinct material and application categories.
How do I plan my timeline if Rogers offers me sponsorship?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. TN visas for Canadian nationals can be obtained at a port of entry the same day with the right documents. OPT extensions and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card filings involve USCIS processing that can range from several months to over a year. Ask Rogers' HR team which pathway they intend to use before accepting an offer so you can plan your start date accordingly.
