Align your credentials with defense clearance requirements
Many Technician roles at Shield AI require or strongly prefer candidates eligible for a U.S. security clearance. Research which visa statuses are clearance-eligible before applying, since certain visa categories disqualify you from the process entirely.
Target Shield AI's hardware and field teams
Shield AI hires Technicians across autonomous systems integration, test and evaluation, and depot-level maintenance. Tailor your resume to reflect direct experience with unmanned systems, avionics, or defense electronics rather than generic technical maintenance backgrounds.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Technician roles
Sponsorship-eligible Technician positions at Shield AI don't always stay open long. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship roles at Shield AI and set up alerts so you're applying as soon as a relevant position goes live.
Prepare your OPT or CPT documentation before interviews
If you're on F-1 status, have your EAD card, STEM OPT extension authorization, and I-20 ready to share with HR. Shield AI's talent team will ask about your work authorization timeline early, and gaps in documentation slow down offers.
Confirm Shield AI's E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Shield AI is a federal contractor, which means E-Verify participation is required. Verify this directly with the recruiter, since E-Verify enrollment is a prerequisite for F-1 STEM OPT extensions and affects your post-hire authorization timeline.

Find Technician at Shield AI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Shield AI sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Shield AI's H-1B sponsorship activity has been concentrated in engineering and software roles rather than Technician positions. Technician roles are more commonly supported through EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, or TN visa pathways. H-1B sponsorship for Technician roles is possible but less common, so confirm directly with Shield AI's HR team during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Shield AI?
Applications go through Shield AI's careers page, where Technician openings are posted by team and location. You can also find sponsorship-verified Technician listings at Shield AI through Migrate Mate, which filters roles specifically for international candidates. Tailor your application to the autonomous systems or defense hardware domain the specific role covers, and flag your visa status clearly in your application.
Which visa types are commonly used for Technician roles at Shield AI?
Shield AI has sponsored F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, EB-2, and EB-3 visa types for technical positions. For Technician roles specifically, F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates, TN is available to qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible technical occupations, and EB-3 covers skilled worker and professional categories relevant to defense technicians pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications and experience does Shield AI expect for Technician roles?
Shield AI Technician postings typically require hands-on experience with unmanned systems, avionics, ground support equipment, or defense electronics. An associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field strengthens your application, but verifiable field experience with military or aerospace hardware often carries equal weight. Security clearance eligibility is a significant differentiator given Shield AI's defense contracts.
How do I think about the visa sponsorship timeline when targeting Shield AI?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month standard period or 24-month STEM extension gives you a defined window to demonstrate value and initiate employer-sponsored processes. TN status is renewed annually at the border or through USCIS. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves DOL PERM labor certification followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS, so expect a multi-year process and start that conversation with your hiring manager well before your existing status expires.
