Target roles aligned with your degree field
Sikich sponsors visa holders in technical accounting and advisory roles where a specific degree is required. Positions in audit, tax, and financial consulting align best with specialty occupation standards, focus your applications on these functions.
Prioritize F-1 OPT as your entry point
Sikich sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which means joining during your practical training period is a viable path. Proving your value before H-1B sponsorship becomes necessary gives the firm a strong incentive to support your petition.
Understand the H-1B lottery timeline early
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship at Sikich, the lottery registration window opens in March each year. Raise the conversation with your hiring manager or recruiter well before then so the firm can file on time if selected.
Focus on regional office hiring patterns
Sikich operates across multiple U.S. markets. Certain offices may have more active hiring in sponsor-eligible roles than others, research which locations have accounting and audit openings and target those specifically in your outreach.
Highlight technical specializations in your application
Sikich serves clients in complex industries like manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services. Candidates with specialized knowledge in a specific sector or accounting discipline stand out and make the specialty occupation case easier to support.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsor openings
Sikich's sponsorship activity is documented in public filings. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors like Sikich so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find open roles without guessing whether a firm will actually support your visa.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sikich sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Sikich sponsors H-1B visas. The firm has an established track record of sponsoring international professionals in accounting and auditing roles that qualify as specialty occupations. H-1B sponsorship at Sikich is most common for candidates already working there on F-1 OPT, where the firm has had time to evaluate the hire before committing to the petition.
Which visa types does Sikich sponsor?
Sikich sponsors H-1B visas for full-time professional roles, and also supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students completing practical training. TN visas are also sponsored, making Sikich accessible to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting and advisory positions. The firm does not have a documented history of Green Card sponsorship.
Which departments or roles at Sikich are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Visa sponsorship at Sikich is concentrated in technical roles across audit, tax, and advisory services. These functions require specific educational credentials in accounting or finance, which supports the specialty occupation classification needed for H-1B petitions. Candidates applying to generalist or administrative roles are less likely to be eligible for sponsorship consideration.
How do I time my application to Sikich around the H-1B process?
The H-1B lottery registration typically opens in early March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT and your status expires before October, your employer may need to bridge the gap. Start conversations with Sikich recruiters no later than January so there's enough runway to confirm sponsorship intent before the registration window opens.
How do I find open visa-sponsored roles at Sikich?
Migrate Mate lists open positions at verified sponsoring employers, including Sikich, filtered by real filing history so you're not applying to companies that list jobs but never sponsor. Search for Sikich directly on Migrate Mate to see current openings and cross-reference the visa types the firm has sponsored to assess which roles are the strongest fit for your situation.
