Role
Objectives of this Role:
- Supports daily cafeteria operations by assisting with food preparation, serving meals during breakfast and lunch service, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a clean and organized kitchen and serving environment.
- Role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service setting, assuming primary responsibility for cooking and food production.

- This role requires demonstrated cooking ability, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently during peak service periods.
- This position prepares hot menu items in accordance with recipes and portion standards, supports multiple service stations during breakfast and lunch, and assists with maintaining food quality, safety, and kitchen efficiency.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook hot food items according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Operate grill, flat-top, ovens, fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Prepare proteins, starches, vegetables, soups, and other menu items.
- Mentor entry level staff.
- Monitor cooking temperatures, ensure food safety compliance.
- Adjust production quantities to meet service demand.
- Maintain portion control and quality standards.
- Lead or work assigned stations during breakfast and lunch service, including: Grill, Hot serving line, deli, pizza, salad.
- Replenish food during service and serve customers professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain clean kitchen and prep areas, ensure proper food storage and labeling, follow all food safety procedures, and report supply shortages or equipment concerns.
- Assist with dishwashing, trash removal, and end-of-day cleaning.
- Assist with weekly production planning as assigned.
- Support inventory management and stock rotation.
- Assist with receiving and verifying food deliveries.
- Participate in deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, prep areas.
- Cross-train team members on basic prep and station duties.
- Attend required safety and food handling training.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations.
- Support supervisor in maintaining efficient kitchen workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years: Prior food service experience required. Food Handler’s License preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- 3-5 years: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30–40 pounds.
- 5-3 years: Strong teamwork and communication skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
