Align your resume to aerospace manufacturing systems
Spirit AeroSystems hires Industrial Engineers to optimize high-complexity assembly lines for programs like the 737 and 787. Frame your experience around production flow analysis, capacity planning, or lean implementation in regulated manufacturing environments, not general process improvement.
Target Spirit's facilities with active hiring pipelines
Spirit operates major sites in Wichita, Tulsa, and Prestwick. Industrial Engineer openings are concentrated at the Wichita campus, which handles the bulk of fuselage and nacelle production. Focusing your applications on that location gives you the strongest match against active sponsorship activity.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Industrial Engineer roles at Spirit AeroSystems by visa type before applying. This saves time confirming sponsorship eligibility and surfaces active openings you can apply to directly with your target visa category already matched.
Understand how TN status fits this role
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue Spirit's Industrial Engineer roles under TN status, which requires demonstrating that the position meets the DOL's qualifying engineer categories. Bring your degree credential and an employer support letter confirming the role title and duties to your port of entry.
Ask about PERM timing during your offer stage
For Green Card pathways via EB-2 or EB-3, Spirit must complete a PERM labor certification with DOL before filing your immigrant petition. Clarify during the offer process whether the company initiates PERM concurrently with your H-1B approval or waits until a later employment anniversary.

Find Industrial Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Spirit AeroSystems sponsor H-1B visas for Industrial Engineers?
Yes, Spirit AeroSystems sponsors H-1B visas for Industrial Engineer roles. The company operates as a large aerospace manufacturer with established immigration processes for engineering talent. H-1B sponsorship requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation, and Industrial Engineering positions at Spirit, which typically require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, generally meet that standard under USCIS guidelines.
How do I apply for Industrial Engineer jobs at Spirit AeroSystems?
Applications go through Spirit AeroSystems' careers portal, where you can filter by location and job function. Wichita, Kansas is the primary hub for Industrial Engineer openings given the scale of production operations there. You can also browse and apply through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Spirit's open roles filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before submitting your application.
Which visa types does Spirit AeroSystems commonly use for Industrial Engineer roles?
Spirit AeroSystems sponsors H-1B visas for Industrial Engineers, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering credentials, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and how far along you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Spirit AeroSystems expect for Industrial Engineer roles?
Spirit typically requires a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field such as Manufacturing Engineering or Systems Engineering. Practical experience with lean manufacturing, value stream mapping, or production planning in an aerospace or high-volume manufacturing environment strengthens your application significantly. Familiarity with quality standards common in aerospace, such as AS9100, is an advantage for roles tied to regulated production programs.
How do I get the timing right when targeting Spirit AeroSystems for H-1B sponsorship?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year, with new employment start dates no earlier than October 1. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and calculate whether a cap-gap extension covers you through that start date. Getting an offer in hand before the March registration window gives Spirit enough lead time to include you in the annual USCIS lottery.
