Align your credentials to aerospace manufacturing standards
Spirit AeroSystems works on FAA-regulated production environments, so credentials like AS9100 familiarity, composite fabrication experience, or quality inspection certifications directly strengthen your profile before you apply.
Target roles tied to active production programs
Spirit's manufacturing hiring tends to follow aircraft program demand, including commercial narrowbody and defense contracts. Roles on active build lines are more likely to come with employer flexibility on sponsorship than support or overhead positions.
Confirm your OPT or CPT covers your start date
F-1 students on OPT have a 60-day unemployment grace period, and STEM OPT extensions run up to 24 months. Map your authorization window against Spirit's typical onboarding timelines before accepting an offer to avoid gaps.
Ask recruiters explicitly about TN eligibility early
Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying manufacturing and engineering roles may be eligible for TN status, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm the role's NOC or job title alignment with DOL's TN occupation list before your first interview.
Use Migrate Mate to surface Spirit's open manufacturing roles
Manufacturing positions at Spirit AeroSystems are listed on Migrate Mate, filtered specifically for visa-sponsored roles. Search by role type and visa category to identify which positions match your authorization before reaching out to recruiters.

Find Manufacturing at Spirit AeroSystems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Spirit AeroSystems sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Spirit AeroSystems sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Manufacturing positions. Roles that meet the specialty occupation threshold, typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering, are the most likely candidates. Production operator roles without a degree requirement generally do not qualify for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Spirit AeroSystems?
You can browse Spirit AeroSystems Manufacturing roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, then apply directly through Spirit's careers portal. Tailor your resume to reference specific aerospace processes, tooling experience, or quality systems relevant to the role. Following up with a recruiter after applying improves your chances, particularly for roles tied to active production programs.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing roles at Spirit AeroSystems?
Spirit AeroSystems sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Manufacturing roles, along with EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Cards for longer-term hires. The right visa depends on your nationality, education level, and the specific job. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles without going through the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Spirit AeroSystems expect for sponsored Manufacturing positions?
For roles that qualify for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship, Spirit typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with composite structures, precision machining, or quality inspection in an FAA-regulated production environment adds significant weight to your application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing role at Spirit AeroSystems?
H-1B sponsorship through the annual cap involves a lottery in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. USCIS premium processing can reduce adjudication to 15 business days after selection. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card timelines are longer, often exceeding two years when PERM labor certification is required. Start conversations about sponsorship during offer negotiation, not after signing.
