INTRODUCTION
Help empower our global customers to connect to culture through their passions.
Why you'll love this role:
StockX has redefined the global marketplace for culture — where buyers and sellers transact with confidence on an always-on digital exchange. We are building the next frontier of creator-driven, culturally rich commerce that blends excitement, community, expertise, and transaction in one platform. This initiative is designed to empower sellers and creators to build sustainable businesses while creating moments that drive deep engagement. To support this effort, we are forming a category-led Go-To-Market organization that scales with culture, category dynamics, and community expertise. The Category Manager is a foundational hire tasked with owning the growth and strategic trajectory of a major category. You will serve as the chief operator, strategist, and market voice for your category — identifying opportunity, building pipelines, and driving seller and creator engagement from early stages through scale. This role blends strategic planning, deep customer and market understanding, and hands-on execution, with full ownership of category growth outcomes. You will work closely with Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and Operations to define and accelerate the path to liquidity, engagement, and monetization within your category.
What You'll Do:
Category Strategy & Ownership:
- Define the strategic vision and growth plan for your category on the platform
- Become a deep expert on the category's supply landscape, demand drivers, community channels, and competitive dynamics
- Establish metrics and quarterly goals to measure and drive category performance
Supply & Community Acquisition:
- Build a robust pipeline of sellers, creators, influencers, and shops within your category
- Drive outbound outreach, onboarding, and enablement for high-potential sellers
- Cultivate long-term relationships with strategic sellers and community leaders
Cross-Functional Go-To-Market Execution:
- Partner with our Account and Partnerships Managers to scale seller engagement and support
- Collaborate with Category Marketing Managers to architect high-impact launches, moments, and campaigns
- Represent category needs and insights to Product and Engineering to improve seller tools, features, and platform performance
Category Performance & Analytics:
- Use data to diagnose growth opportunities, identify bottlenecks, and optimize playbooks
- Track supply, engagement, retention, and revenue trends and adjust strategies in real time
- Surface actionable insights to Growth leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Culture & Community Leadership:
- Act as the platform's representative within your category's ecosystem
- Engage deeply with community norms, vernacular, and cultural drivers to inform both strategy and execution
- Champion creator and seller needs internally to ensure authentic, category-led growth
ABOUT YOU:
- Experienced GTM / Growth Operator: 5+ years in business development, partnerships, category management, or marketplace growth roles; experience in consumer platforms or two-sided marketplaces preferred
- Strategic Thinker + Doer: Comfortable defining vision while executing in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Relationship-Driven: Able to build trust quickly with sellers, creators, and internal partners
- Data Fluent: Makes decisions informed by data and measures what matters
- Community Minded: Understands cultural nuance, category subcultures, and trends that drive engagement
Nice to Have:
- Existing network within the assigned category (e.g., sneaker resellers, influencer communities, boutique shops)
- Marketplace experience across both supply and demand sides
- Experience with creator monetization platforms, community-driven commerce, or enthusiast ecosystems
- Comfort with CRM tools, sales pipelines, analytics dashboards, and seller performance metrics
Why This Role Matters:
As one of the first Category Managers supporting this new commerce initiative, you will:
- Set the playbook for how categories scale on an emerging platform
- Shape how StockX engages sellers, creators, and communities at scale
- Build the foundation of a repeatable, category-centric GTM / Growth engine that expands into new verticals
This role is both strategic and entrepreneurial, with meaningful ownership and the opportunity to influence the trajectory of a high-potential new product.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in StockX Visa Sponsorship USA
Focus on roles that align with Green Card sponsorship
StockX's sponsorship activity skews toward permanent residency rather than temporary work visas. Target roles in data, engineering, operations, or product where employers are more likely to commit to long-term sponsorship from the start.
Target the intersection of retail and technology
StockX operates at the crossroads of e-commerce, logistics, and data. Roles combining retail domain knowledge with technical skills, analytics, software, supply chain systems, tend to attract the most serious sponsorship consideration from companies like StockX.

Confirming a company's real sponsorship history before investing time in applications saves weeks of wasted effort. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by actual sponsorship history, including companies like StockX.
Tailor your application to StockX's culture and mission

Does StockX sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available filing data, StockX does not have a recent track record of H-1B sponsorship. The company's sponsorship activity has focused on Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, it's worth clarifying directly with the hiring team during the process.
What visa types does StockX sponsor?
StockX sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which are permanent residency pathways typically tied to professional and skilled worker roles. The company also accepts F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible to international students completing U.S. degree programs. Candidates seeking temporary nonimmigrant visa sponsorship such as H-1B should confirm current policies directly with StockX's recruiting team.
Which departments or roles at StockX are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at StockX tends to follow roles requiring specialized skills that are harder to fill domestically. Engineering, data science, product management, and operations are the most common areas where employers in StockX's space commit to sponsorship. Roles in merchandising or customer support are less likely to attract Green Card sponsorship, though OPT hiring can be broader across departments.
How do I find open roles at StockX that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search for StockX on Migrate Mate, which aggregates and verifies employer sponsorship history so you can confirm a company's track record before applying. From there, filter for roles matching your visa type, whether that's OPT-eligible positions or roles tied to Green Card sponsorship, and apply directly through StockX's careers page.
How do I navigate the sponsorship timeline when applying to StockX?
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is a multi-year process that typically begins after you've joined a company and demonstrated your value. If you're on F-1 OPT, your priority should be securing the role first, then initiating a conversation about long-term sponsorship once you're established. Raising sponsorship requirements early in the interview process is reasonable, most experienced recruiters at tech-adjacent retail companies expect it.
