ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You have built your career at the intersection of semiconductor technology and product strategy, and you understand that the best product roadmaps are written in partnership with the engineers who will build on top of them. Your expertise in process simulation, device modeling, calibration, and digital twin technologies is not theoretical. It comes from years of working directly with the teams who depend on these tools to solve real problems at the edge of what is physically possible.
You lead with clarity, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability. You build high-performing teams, set clear direction, and empower others to execute effectively while remaining actively engaged when course correction is needed. Your reputation in the TCAD and semiconductor ecosystem is grounded in credibility, consistent follow-through, and the ability to address complex challenges directly and constructively.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Define and execute the product technical strategy for Synopsys TCAD solutions, including process and device simulation, atomistic modeling, calibration, and digital twin technologies
- Build and manage the product technical roadmap by synthesizing customer feedback, competitive intelligence, market trends, and internal R&D capabilities into prioritized initiatives
- Lead go-to-market planning for TCAD product launches, including technical positioning, messaging, sales enablement materials, and field readiness
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and ecosystem partners to shape market direction and drive adoption of Synopsys TCAD solutions
- Identify and qualify new market opportunities adjacent to the core TCAD portfolio, including discovery, business case development, and execution planning
- Partner with the product management team, providing technical direction, collaboration, and accountability to deliver on quarterly and annual goals
- Partner with Field Applications Engineers to expand Synopsys TCAD presence at customer sites through training, technical enablement, and joint customer engagements
THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE
- Expand Synopsys market share in TCAD simulation, atomistic modeling, and digital twin solutions by delivering differentiated products that solve real customer problems ahead of competitors
- Drive revenue growth by entering adjacent markets and building new product lines that leverage Synopsys core TCAD capabilities
- Strengthen Synopsys influence in the semiconductor ecosystem through thought leadership, industry presentations, and strategic customer partnerships
- Improve product-market fit and customer satisfaction by ensuring the roadmap reflects actual user workflows, not just feature requests
- Accelerate time-to-value for customers by tightening integration between TCAD tools and the broader Synopsys EDA platform
- Build a scalable, high-performing product team that can execute independently and adapt to shifting market conditions
- Shape industry standards and best practices in TCAD by engaging with consortia, research institutions, and leading semiconductor companies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of product management or product marketing experience in EDA, semiconductor design, or process technology
- Deep technical knowledge of TCAD workflows, including process simulation, device physics, calibration methodologies, or atomistic modeling
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Device Physics, Materials Science, or related field
- Proven ability to write clear, actionable Marketing Requirements Documents that translate customer needs into engineering deliverables
- Established relationships with product and engineering leaders at major semiconductor companies, foundries, or IDMs
- Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that involve R&D, sales, marketing, and field teams across multiple geographies
- MBA or equivalent business experience is a strong plus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates a leadership style grounded in clear direction, thoughtful decision-making, and effective delegation rather than close oversight of execution
- Adapts quickly to changing priorities and evolving business needs, maintaining team focus and momentum in dynamic environments
- Communicates effectively with both highly technical and executive audiences, translating complex product strategies into clear business and technical value propositions
- Builds credibility with customers and partners through consistent follow-through, transparent communication, and proactive issue management

Target engineering and R&D roles first
Synopsys's core business is EDA software and semiconductor IP, so its deepest sponsorship activity tends to cluster in software engineering, hardware design, and research roles. Candidates with backgrounds in these areas are best positioned to pursue a sponsored position.
Understand Synopsys's Green Card commitment
Synopsys has a strong track record of supporting permanent residency for long-term employees. If your goal is a Green Card pathway, ask recruiters early about the company's PERM sponsorship policy and typical timelines for eligible roles.
Highlight specialized technical skills in your application
Synopsys hires for highly specialized roles in chip verification, functional safety, and EDA tooling. Tailoring your resume to reflect domain-specific expertise signals that you're a strong fit for roles where sponsorship investment is most justified.
Ask about OPT and CPT pathways during early outreach
Synopsys actively works with F-1 students through OPT and CPT programs. If you're currently on a student visa, reaching out to their university recruiting team directly can open doors before you even graduate.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship-verified openings
Synopsys posts roles across many channels, but not every listing confirms visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for a technical-first interview process
Synopsys's hiring process in Technology & Software is heavily technical, often spanning multiple rounds. Demonstrating deep domain knowledge early builds the internal case for sponsorship, which requires employer investment and is more likely for high-confidence hires.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Synopsys sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Synopsys sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in software engineering, EDA development, and semiconductor research. While its Green Card sponsorship volume is considerably higher, H-1B support is part of the company's broader commitment to hiring international talent across its U.S. engineering teams.
What visa types does Synopsys sponsor?
Synopsys sponsors H-1B, TN visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT visas for work authorization, and it is one of the more active Green Card sponsors in the technology sector, supporting EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. The company's sponsorship activity reflects its reliance on highly skilled international talent across engineering and research functions.
Which roles and departments at Synopsys are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Synopsys is most concentrated in technical roles, including software engineers, hardware verification engineers, product engineers, and research scientists. Teams focused on EDA tooling, chip design IP, and functional safety consistently hire internationally. Business, sales, and administrative roles are sponsored less frequently and tend to have a higher bar for approval.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at Synopsys?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find Synopsys roles confirmed for visa sponsorship. Rather than sifting through listings that may not clarify sponsorship availability, Migrate Mate filters specifically for verified sponsors like Synopsys, saving you time and reducing the risk of applying to roles where sponsorship won't be offered.
How do I approach the Synopsys application process as an international candidate?
Apply directly to roles that match your technical background, and be upfront about your visa status early in the recruiter screen. Synopsys's HR teams are experienced with sponsorship processes, so transparency helps move things forward rather than creating friction. For F-1 candidates, connecting with Synopsys through university recruiting programs or internship pipelines is an effective entry point.
