We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You’ve built your engineering career at the intersection of electronics and physics, and you get a real kick out of solving “impossible” problems for teams pushing the boundaries of what’s electrically and thermally feasible. You know your way around a schematic, but you’re just as comfortable firing up Ansys Icepak, AEDT, or Fluent to run a simulation that tells the real story. When a customer’s system is overheating, you’re the one who can untangle whether it’s a fluid flow bottleneck, a thermal interface misstep, or a modeling assumption gone sideways. You don’t just troubleshoot—you teach, you guide, and you make sure the next time the team knows exactly what to do.
You thrive on variety: one day you’re deep in a customer’s layout files, the next you’re field-testing a new solver feature or prepping a training deck that turns “CFD” into something an entire design team can use. You’re hungry to keep learning—AI in engineering, new multiphysics workflows, whatever’s next. You want to be part of a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and making a real difference for customers. If you like seeing the impact of your work show up in the next generation of electronics and enjoy being the expert people rely on, this is your role.
What You'll Be Doing
- Use Ansys simulation tools (AEDT, Icepak, Fluent, Mechanical) to help customers solve electronics thermal, power, and reliability challenges in real-world designs
- Provide direct technical support, troubleshooting, and workflow recommendations to customers across the US and Canada, ensuring they get the most out of their simulation investments
- Build deep expertise in Ansys simulation products and their application to electronics design, becoming the go-to resource for both customers and internal teams
- Guide customers in multiphysics simulation approaches, including electro-thermal and thermo-mechanical analysis, helping them choose the right methods for their problems
- Capture and report software bugs and feature gaps, contributing actionable feedback to product development and participating in field-testing new releases
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to provide technical insights, support product demonstrations, and help shape messaging that resonates with engineering teams
- Deliver training sessions, webinars, and technical presentations to upskill customers and colleagues, making complex simulation topics accessible and actionable
The Impact You Will Have
- Speed up customer adoption of advanced simulation workflows, letting teams find and fix design issues before hardware is ever built
- Raise the bar for customer satisfaction by turning technical obstacles into opportunities for learning and success
- Drive improvements in Synopsys’ simulation tools by channeling real-world feedback into actionable product changes
- Empower engineering teams to leverage AI-enabled simulation, opening new possibilities for design optimization and innovation
- Help customers reduce costly design iterations by giving them the simulation expertise they need, exactly when they need it
- Grow the technical capability of Synopsys’ support and product teams by sharing best practices and emerging trends
- Make a measurable difference in the reliability, performance, and competitiveness of customer products across industries
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, or closely related field (BS + 2 years, MS or PhD with relevant experience)
- Hands-on experience with Ansys simulation tools (AEDT, Icepak, Fluent, Mechanical) or equivalent CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM platforms
- Solid foundation in fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermodynamics applied to electronics
- Familiarity with multiphysics simulation (electro-thermal, thermo-mechanical) and their role in electronic system design
- Strong communication skills—you can break down complex technical topics for both engineers and non-specialists
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% as needed
- Experience supporting customers in a technical role is a plus
Who You Are
- You break down a thermal bottleneck or simulation error methodically, asking the right questions and staying focused on root cause
- You can explain the difference between a CFD solver setting and a physical design constraint without losing your audience
- You’re comfortable juggling multiple priorities—support tickets, training, field-testing—without letting quality slip
- You look for the “why” behind a customer’s workflow, not just the “how,” and tailor your guidance to their real needs
- You thrive in teams where expertise is shared, and you enjoy mentoring others as much as you enjoy learning yourself
- You stay curious about new technologies and are ready to try, test, and advocate for better ways of working
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join the Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) Global Technical Support (GTS) team, a diverse group of talented engineers and technical specialists dedicated to empowering customers and advancing simulation-driven innovation. The team emphasizes a collaborative culture, sharing expertise, continuously learning and delivering exceptional service across a wide range of industries, with a special focus on electronics thermal management. Together, you will solve complex challenges, drive product advancement, and make a measurable impact on the future of electronic design.

Target engineering and R&D roles first
Synopsys's core business is EDA software and semiconductor IP, so its deepest sponsorship activity tends to cluster in software engineering, hardware design, and research roles. Candidates with backgrounds in these areas are best positioned to pursue a sponsored position.
Understand Synopsys's Green Card commitment
Synopsys has a strong track record of supporting permanent residency for long-term employees. If your goal is a Green Card pathway, ask recruiters early about the company's PERM sponsorship policy and typical timelines for eligible roles.
Highlight specialized technical skills in your application
Synopsys hires for highly specialized roles in chip verification, functional safety, and EDA tooling. Tailoring your resume to reflect domain-specific expertise signals that you're a strong fit for roles where sponsorship investment is most justified.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship-verified openings
Synopsys posts roles across many channels, but not every listing confirms visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for a technical-first interview process
Synopsys's hiring process in Technology & Software is heavily technical, often spanning multiple rounds. Demonstrating deep domain knowledge early builds the internal case for sponsorship, which requires employer investment and is more likely for high-confidence hires.

How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at Synopsys?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find Synopsys roles confirmed for visa sponsorship. Rather than sifting through listings that may not clarify sponsorship availability, Migrate Mate filters specifically for verified sponsors like Synopsys, saving you time and reducing the risk of applying to roles where sponsorship won't be offered.
How do I approach the Synopsys application process as an international candidate?
Apply directly to roles that match your technical background, and be upfront about your visa status early in the recruiter screen. Synopsys's HR teams are experienced with sponsorship processes, so transparency helps move things forward rather than creating friction. For F-1 candidates, connecting with Synopsys through university recruiting programs or internship pipelines is an effective entry point.
