Align your credentials to TCS delivery models
TCS staffs Service Tech roles against specific client delivery frameworks. Tailor your resume to reflect ITIL, ticketing systems, or infrastructure support experience that maps directly to enterprise IT service environments, not general technical skills.
Target open roles through Migrate Mate
Browse verified Service Tech openings at TCS filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. This saves time by surfacing only roles where sponsorship is actively supported, so you're not applying blindly to positions that won't move forward.
Understand how TCS structures H-1B filings
TCS files H-1B petitions in the annual USCIS lottery cycle, which opens in March. If you're targeting a full-time role, time your application process so an offer is in place before registration closes. Missing the cycle means waiting another year.
Prepare documentation for a specialty occupation case
H-1B approval for Service Tech roles requires demonstrating a theoretical and practical application of a specific body of knowledge. Gather transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations, and any professional certifications that establish your specialty ahead of USCIS petition filing.
Ask directly about TN eligibility if you qualify
Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles can use the TN visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. TCS sponsors TN visas, so if your role and nationality qualify under DOL's TN occupation list, raise it explicitly during the offer stage.

Find Service Tech at Tata Consultancy Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Tata Consultancy Services sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Yes, TCS sponsors H-1B visas for Service Tech roles and is one of the more active H-1B filers in the IT services sector. Sponsorship is tied to the annual USCIS lottery, so timing matters. Candidates who already hold valid work authorization, such as OPT, typically have a smoother path to an offer before the lottery window opens in March.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at Tata Consultancy Services?
Applications go through the TCS careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location. For international candidates specifically looking for sponsorship-eligible openings, Migrate Mate lists verified Service Tech positions at TCS with sponsorship status clearly indicated, so you can apply with confidence rather than chasing roles that won't support visa filings.
Which visa types does TCS typically use for Service Tech roles?
TCS supports several visa categories for Service Tech positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, F-1 OPT and CPT for students currently enrolled or recently graduated, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles, and immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for candidates pursuing permanent residence. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and career stage.
What qualifications does TCS expect for Service Tech positions?
Most Service Tech roles at TCS require a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, information technology, or engineering. Practical experience with ITIL frameworks, enterprise ticketing systems, or infrastructure support is commonly expected. Certifications like CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or vendor-specific credentials from Microsoft or Cisco strengthen your profile for client-facing service delivery roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a TCS Service Tech offer?
Timeline depends heavily on which visa category applies. H-1B petitions filed in April have an October 1 start date if selected in the lottery, so you're looking at roughly five to six months between filing and authorized start. F-1 OPT candidates can often start sooner if existing authorization covers the gap. Green Card processes through PERM can take significantly longer and typically begin after you're already employed.
