Target clinical and specialist roles first
ThedaCare's sponsorship activity is concentrated in healthcare delivery roles. Physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in specialty areas are most likely to qualify. Prioritize applications where your clinical background directly matches an open position's requirements.
Engage HR early about sponsorship timelines
Healthcare employers like ThedaCare often have structured onboarding calendars tied to credentialing and licensing. Raising sponsorship requirements early in the process gives HR time to coordinate with immigration counsel before an offer is extended.
Highlight U.S. clinical credentialing in your application
ThedaCare operates in a heavily regulated clinical environment. Applicants who already hold or are pursuing U.S. licensure, board certification, or ECFMG credentials stand out. Leading with credentialing status removes a key friction point for sponsoring employers.
Use Migrate Mate to verify current openings
Sponsoring healthcare employers don't always flag visa support in job listings. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find ThedaCare roles confirmed to support international applicants, saving time on dead-end applications.
Prepare for a multi-step hiring process
ThedaCare's hiring process for clinical roles typically involves credentialing checks, peer interviews, and compliance review. Building in extra lead time, especially if you're on OPT with an approaching end date, reduces pressure and improves your chances of a smooth offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ThedaCare sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ThedaCare sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in clinical and healthcare delivery positions. H-1B sponsorship at ThedaCare is typically tied to specialty occupation roles where a specific degree in a relevant field is required. If you're targeting an H-1B, confirm the role's specialty occupation status early and ask HR directly about their sponsorship process and timeline.
What visa types does ThedaCare sponsor?
ThedaCare sponsors H-1B visas, supports Green Card filings through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based pathways, and works with F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visa holders. The TN category is particularly relevant for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations. Coverage varies by role, so confirm your specific visa category with ThedaCare's HR or immigration team during the interview process.
Which roles at ThedaCare are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at ThedaCare is most common in clinical and allied health roles requiring specialized training, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and select specialist positions. Roles requiring a specific degree in a defined field tend to qualify most readily for H-1B sponsorship. Administrative and general support positions are less likely to meet specialty occupation criteria and may not be eligible for sponsorship.
How do I find visa-sponsored job openings at ThedaCare?
ThedaCare doesn't always label individual listings as visa-sponsored, which makes it hard to identify eligible roles from standard job postings alone. Migrate Mate aggregates verified sponsorship data so you can browse ThedaCare openings filtered by confirmed visa support. This is the most reliable way to identify which current roles align with your visa category without reaching out cold to HR for every position.
How do I approach the ThedaCare application process as an international candidate?
Start by confirming that your target role qualifies under your visa category, then raise your sponsorship needs before or during your first HR screen, not after an offer is made. ThedaCare operates in a credentialing-heavy environment, so having your licensure documentation ready and being transparent about your work authorization timeline will help HR move efficiently with immigration counsel on your behalf.
