Verify Your NCLEX and Credential Equivalency Early
ThedaCare requires active Wisconsin RN licensure before you start. If you trained outside the U.S., get your credentials evaluated through CGFNS and confirm your NCLEX eligibility well before applying, since this process can take several months.
Target Units Matching Your Clinical Background
ThedaCare posts Clinical RN openings across med-surg, ICU, emergency, and specialty units. Applying to roles that directly match your documented clinical experience strengthens your petition for specialty occupation classification under H-1B or EB-3 adjudication.
Understand ThedaCare's EB-3 PERM Timeline Implications
Healthcare employers like ThedaCare frequently use the EB-3 pathway for permanent sponsorship, which requires a DOL PERM labor certification. That process typically adds 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition can be filed, so factor it into your planning.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
Before signing an offer, confirm in writing whether ThedaCare will sponsor both the work visa and eventual Green Card, or only one. Some healthcare systems sponsor the initial H-1B but require a separate agreement for PERM, and the distinction matters significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to Browse Open Clinical RN Roles
Searching for actively sponsoring healthcare employers takes time. Migrate Mate filters Clinical Registered Nurse openings at ThedaCare by visa type so you can identify which roles match your status and apply directly without sifting through non-sponsoring postings.
Confirm TN Eligibility If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
Registered Nurses are a listed TN profession under USMCA, and ThedaCare sponsors TN status. Unlike H-1B, TN has no lottery and no annual cap, which makes it a faster entry point for qualifying candidates already in the application process.

Find Clinical Registered Nurse at ThedaCare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ThedaCare sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Registered Nurses?
Yes, ThedaCare sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Registered Nurse roles. Registered Nursing qualifies as a specialty occupation when the position requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher, which most clinical RN roles at ThedaCare do. You'll need active Wisconsin RN licensure and a signed job offer before the H-1B petition can be filed with USCIS.
How do I apply for Clinical Registered Nurse jobs at ThedaCare?
You can find and apply for Clinical Registered Nurse openings at ThedaCare directly through their careers portal or by browsing sponsorship-filtered listings on Migrate Mate. Applications typically require your current RN license, clinical resume, and any relevant certifications such as BLS or specialty credentials. Roles are posted by unit, so target positions that match your documented clinical background for the strongest fit.
Which visa types does ThedaCare commonly use for Clinical Registered Nurses?
ThedaCare sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Clinical Registered Nurses. The EB-3 pathway is most common for permanent residency in nursing given the role's educational requirements. TN is available exclusively to Canadian and Mexican citizens and offers a faster, cap-exempt alternative to H-1B.
What qualifications does ThedaCare expect for Clinical Registered Nurse roles?
ThedaCare generally requires a current Wisconsin RN license, a BSN or ADN depending on the unit, and valid BLS certification. Specialty units such as ICU or emergency may require additional certifications like ACLS or specific clinical experience hours. For visa sponsorship purposes, roles requiring a BSN carry stronger specialty occupation standing under USCIS adjudication standards.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Clinical RN role at ThedaCare?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS runs three to six months, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. TN can be approved at the port of entry. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship adds a DOL PERM labor certification phase that typically runs 12 to 18 months before the I-140 petition stage, so plan accordingly if permanent residency is your goal.
