Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Maryland requires RN licensure through the Maryland Board of Nursing, and TidalHealth will expect proof before extending a formal offer. Start the credential evaluation and NCLEX process early so licensing delays don't stall your visa filing timeline.
Target Units With Persistent Staffing Gaps
TidalHealth consistently lists openings in critical care, med-surg, and emergency nursing. Applying to high-demand units improves your chances of reaching a hiring manager who has both budget approval and urgency to move through sponsorship paperwork.
Browse Nursing Openings Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter TidalHealth nursing roles by visa type so you only apply to positions where sponsorship is confirmed. This cuts time spent chasing roles that won't support your immigration status.
Confirm Sponsorship Scope in Your Offer Letter
Healthcare employers vary on whether they cover attorney fees, filing fees, or both. Before signing, confirm in writing exactly which USCIS filing costs TidalHealth covers for your specific visa category so there are no surprises after onboarding.

Does TidalHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Nurses?
Yes, TidalHealth has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for qualifying nursing roles. Because H-1B requires the position to meet specialty occupation standards, roles typically need a BSN or higher. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, TidalHealth can file an H-1B transfer so you can start working without waiting for a new cap slot.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at TidalHealth?
Apply directly through TidalHealth's careers portal, where nursing roles are listed by unit and location. In your application, note your visa status and work authorization needs clearly. Recruiters handling nursing hires are generally familiar with sponsorship, but flagging your situation upfront avoids being screened out by teams that assume all candidates are immediately work-authorized.
Which visa types does TidalHealth commonly use for Nursing roles?
TidalHealth sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and immigrant visa categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for nursing positions. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying nursing roles. EB-3 is a common Green Card pathway for registered nurses given the established shortage worker classification, though processing timelines vary significantly by country of birth.
What qualifications does TidalHealth expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Most sponsored nursing roles at TidalHealth require an active Maryland RN license or eligibility for endorsement, a BSN for specialty and critical care units, and relevant clinical experience. International candidates should also have their foreign nursing credentials evaluated through a CGFNS-recognized process, which USCIS and most hospital credentialing committees require before a visa petition can move forward.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nursing role at TidalHealth?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing runs three to five months after filing, while premium processing reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM takes considerably longer, often two or more years when including DOL labor certification and USCIS petition review. Use Migrate Mate to find TidalHealth nursing roles filtered by visa type so you're applying to positions aligned with your current immigration timeline.
