INTRODUCTION
Tire Rack is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Corporate Counsel to join our Senior Leadership Team. This role provides expert legal guidance to the Tire Rack corporate office and distribution centers while supporting the broader enterprise in partnership with the Discount Tire legal team. The Senior Corporate Counsel will navigate complex legal matters, advance corporate compliance objectives, and help protect and further the long-term interests of Tire Rack and Discount Tire.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the review and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including vendor and customer contracts
- Provide strategic legal counsel across departments, with an emphasis on labor and employment matters
- Oversee corporate compliance initiatives, conduct reviews, and recommend operational improvements
- Interpret and analyze new and proposed legislation impacting business operations
- Partner closely with executive leadership to support business strategy and decision-making
- Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the legal team
- Drive departmental performance through KPI tracking, reporting, and process improvement
- Support legal department operations, including budgeting, outside counsel management, legal technology, and workflow optimization
- Champion the culture and values of Tire Rack and Discount Tire
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10 years of experience advising clients on corporate matters; contract and employment law experience preferred
- In-house counsel experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and influence executive-level decision-making
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Strong business acumen and sound judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
- Proven leadership experience with strong people management and team development capabilities
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and emotional intelligence
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Professional certifications are a plus
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours and occasional weekends as business needs require.
