Target roles that align with their core practice areas
Toole Design Group's sponsorship activity centers on planning, engineering, and design disciplines. Focus your applications on roles in transportation planning, urban design, or active transportation, these are the positions most likely to attract sponsorship consideration.
Understand which visa types they support
Toole Design Group sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT visas. If you're on OPT or CPT, you may be able to start working before your H-1B petition is filed, ask about their experience managing OPT-to-H-1B transitions.
Highlight specialized technical expertise in your application
Consulting firms sponsor when the candidate fills a skills gap. Emphasize niche expertise, multimodal corridor analysis, bike network planning, or ADA compliance design, that makes you a specialist hire rather than a generalist applicant.
Apply early in the hiring cycle ahead of H-1B deadlines
H-1B petitions must be filed by April each year for an October 1 start date. Target Toole Design Group job openings in the fall and winter to give the firm enough lead time to initiate sponsorship paperwork before the filing window closes.
Leverage Migrate Mate to surface verified openings

Address sponsorship directly but professionally in your cover letter
Consulting firms evaluate candidates on fit and ROI. State your visa status clearly and briefly, then pivot immediately to the value you bring. Toole Design Group's track record shows they're willing to sponsor, don't let visa hesitation drive you away from applying.
