Target roles aligned with your degree field
Tyler Technologies' Engineering positions span software development, cloud infrastructure, and systems integration. If you're on F-1 OPT or CPT, confirm your degree field directly maps to the role title, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims when the connection isn't explicit.
Prepare a portfolio of government-sector work
Tyler serves public sector clients, so Engineering candidates who can demonstrate experience with secure systems, compliance-driven environments, or government software projects stand out. Include relevant projects in your resume and portfolio before applying.
Ask about H-1B sponsorship timing during recruiter screens
Tyler Technologies sponsors H-1B petitions, but ask early whether the role is included in their annual H-1B cap filing cycle. Roles that open after March may require waiting until the following fiscal year unless premium processing is used.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term timeline
Tyler sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS petition filing. For Engineering roles, PERM requires proving no qualified U.S. workers were available, so your employer starts a formal recruitment process on your behalf.
Browse open Engineering roles directly on Migrate Mate
Search for Tyler Technologies Engineering positions filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate. You can see which roles align with the visa categories Tyler actively sponsors, helping you apply to positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Verify your TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Some Engineering roles at Tyler Technologies may qualify under the TN visa category, which doesn't require a lottery and can be obtained at the border. Confirm your specific job title maps to an eligible TN profession under the USMCA occupational list before your offer stage.

Does Tyler Technologies sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Tyler Technologies sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap season, so timing matters. If you're already on F-1 OPT, your employer can file your H-1B petition before your OPT expires and use the cap-gap provision to bridge your status while USCIS processes the petition.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Tyler Technologies?
You can find Engineering roles at Tyler Technologies through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight relevant technical skills in software development, cloud platforms, or systems integration, since Tyler's Engineering teams support public sector software products across the country.
Which visa types does Tyler Technologies commonly sponsor for Engineering roles?
Tyler Technologies sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Engineering positions. For early-career engineers, F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points. Long-term candidates often transition to H-1B and eventually pursue permanent residence through the EB-2 or EB-3 PERM process sponsored by the employer.
What qualifications does Tyler Technologies look for in Engineering candidates who need sponsorship?
Tyler Technologies Engineering roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field. For H-1B and EB sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the degree must directly relate to the job duties. Candidates with experience in enterprise software, government technology platforms, or systems integration are well positioned.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Engineering role at Tyler Technologies?
Timeline depends on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization takes around three to five months from application to start date. H-1B standard processing runs three to six months after USCIS receives the petition, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. Green Card sponsorship through PERM and EB-2 or EB-3 can take several years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
